The media could not be loaded.  I do not like the way you have to enter information such as entering numbers and letters and navigating thru partially blocked screens. You can not see what you are entering until you are ready to press okay. It is hard to tell what you highlighted on the screen. If this radio could be programmed with a lap top that would make it a solid 4.5 Stars. It weighs 9.171 ounces or 260 grams. Unlike other radios it is easy to put in the SIM Card thru a slot in the same are of the microphone cord recepticle. The volume knob has a high shoulder around it for protection from impact. In the days to come I hope to find software to enter infomation in to the KSUN ZL30.October 19th 2023. I bought an Eiot SIM Card for the ZL30 KSUN. It worked for 5 minutes and stopped working. I went through the settings for about 2 hours trying to solve the problem. I now have multiple over lapping images on the screen making it very hard to see what I am doing. It is not at touch screen so you have to use the touch pad. The color on the images are so much alike it is hard to tell what you have selected. KSUN you need to use your ZL30 radio in the real world and see what your buyers go through! It is a shame to build such an awesome radio then put horrible software in it! The build quality is fantastic but your support and software is going to kill your sales and give your company a bad reputation. I will continue to work on these problems with your radio and post my results for viewing. UPDATE I emailed with some from QZsanfu or KSUN. I was told that the screen they put in the radio is too small and that is why the menus overlap. I was also told they have no current plans to update the software in the KSUN ZL30. If any owners of the KSUN ZL30 know how to get into "SOLO' mode let me know thanks.Update: December 05 2023 The EIOT card is working fine now. This what I had to do. I bought the EIOT Club Sim Card. It is for Security, Hunting, Trail Game Cameras, GPS Devices and Data without Voice and Text.The card cost $5.00 and the service was $10.00 one month plus another mine for free at 2GB per month.All the information on setting up the plan is included. You go to their website and inter the numbers of your SIM card. Then you select the plan you want and pay the fee.Next you make sure your KSUN ZL30 is connected to wifi. With your KSUN turned on press home button (house button). Use direction pad and select “Settings” by pressing “OK”. Select “Network Settings” Press OK then select “Preferred Settings” then select “Auto”. Then press your “Home” button until you get to “Intercom”.Select intercom. You may have to wait for 3 hours for the network to locate your SIM card ., Once it does you will see the cellphone signal graph so an increase in signal strength.

This unit has potential but the software needs A LOT of work.Strike 1:My unit shipped with the wrong charging cable. It came with a mini USB. This unit requires USB-C.Strike 2:As another reviewer mentioned the scree resolution is set wrong and many of the Zello icons get cut off and it is hard to navigate. Also in my case there are now Zello group and user status icons stuck on the screen even after I exit Zello. (see the photo I attached.) This is persistent ever after shutting down and rebooting the device.Strike 3:This runs on an old version of android that is very locked down. the settings menu doesn't even allow you do do the simplest things like changing how long the display stays on. (only about 15 seconds if you are not pressing buttons) You can turn off the annoying boot sound but you cannot turn off the annoying BEEP you get with every click of the volume knob. There are ONLY 9 steps in the volume setting, so the changes in volume are too much with each click of the knob to really get it set right.Strike 4:The manual is NOT well written. (no surprise) There is no mention of any kind of support, web site or phone number in the manual. (again not a big surprise) This pretty much means these will NEVER get a software update from the manufacture. The version of software that is on it when you buy it is what you will be stuck with for life.It isn't ALL bad. It gets a second star form me because the hardware seems like it is fairly well built given the price point and the audio (using Zello's echo test) was REALLY good. Better then I have gotten on some phones and better then many other user that I hear.I wouldn't recommend this model unless you have an android hacker friend that can get in and fix some of these software setting / display flaws.Update: Regarding the floating Zello icons shown in the picture i attached. Apparently that is feature in the android version of Zello. Unfortunately you can activate those floating PTT buttons by clicking an Icon with this device but you need a touch screen to turn them off, Which this device does not have. So i had to download an android screen mirroring program on the computer that let me use my mouse as a tough device to turn them off.

So far my biggest gripe is this screen size isn’t big enough for the Zello app. Lord help ya if you mistakenly hit the overlay button that puts a talk button on top of everything. Only way to get rid of it is to remove your Zello account and put it back, lesson learned.You barely can see selections like contacts so if you keep things simple it can work. If you’re one who has long channel names and such, good luck.So, as a simple radio with a few contacts and short channel names, it works. Other than screen size, it’s a respectable Zello radio, and nothing else. Software is all old so forget doing much with Android and Zello apps or ANY upgrades.I got it to simply see build quality and if it might replace our shop radios. While it could work, I don’t want to hear all the complaints over screen size issues. I’ll keep looking for that purpose. As one to play with and camping or something like that, it’d be fine.

It would not work with att or tmobile. Verizon also no go but says won't work with Verizon just att or tmobile. Screen menus very difficult to navigate, hard to setup and some options should not be on device, if you choose them they pop up on screen and don't go away unless you figure out how to completely remove your account from device. Way to complicated. The device seems to be build well just the software is not worth the time.
