Much better than OEM plastic unit!
Our screen door latch broke while camping and I found this all metal replacement and had it shipped to the RV park's office. It came quickly, even though we were in the middle of nowhere. The handle and the housing are both metal. The part that connects to the door and the latch that connects to the door frame are plastic, but that is fine since they are not what breaks. On my door, and others that I have seen that broke, the part that breaks is the plastic housing that holds the handle and the small spring inside.Installation was easy although I did drill new holes. The old unit and the new unit had similar hole patterns, but the OEM unit was installed too low to catch on the latch correctly and so I drilled new, higher holes to correct that problem that had been there since day one with the plastic unit. One note: The catch that connects to the door and catches the screen door's latch (to keep them together when you open the outside door) was too short to reach the newly installed metal latch. I guess the spacing between my outer door and screen door was too far. So I simply used the original plastic catch and it worked fine, although I did have to adjust it slightly as the new metal latch was slightly higher than the old plastic one (probably because I drilled new holes and shifted it up to solve the problem of the screen door not always latching as noted above).Time will tell if it lasts longer than the plastic one, but this metal unit seems very solid, well built, and I am hoping for many years of good service from it.

Much better than the original!
This replacement handle was easy to install on my camper screen door. The original one was plastic and broke. This one is made of metal and works much better and is more reliable. Good purchase! 👍

Much better!
I have been replacing my plastic handle every year. I am so glad to have the metal handle. Part of it is plastic but overall a much sturdier build. Didn't quite fit the holes but drilled others and repaired the old ones. I am pleased with the results

Nice upgrade
This is a solid upgrade from the plastic latch that came on the door of my motorhome. Very happy with this purchase.

Tight fit when adapting to older motorhomes
I purchase this one after returning one of the plastic ones sold on Amazon, it was too large. Adapting this to my 1993 Bounder took a little bit doing but it works well and seems to a solid unit. Be aware that there are no instructions, and you must position the door catch so that it holds the arm in a non-catch position on the frame catch when the door is closed, otherwise you will not be able to open the door when you close it. For my application I needed to remove a little of the screen door cross piece where the handle interfered, and I needed to remove a little bit of the latch to clear the frame catch. All in all it took about 2 hours of careful filing and test fitting but I got it and it works good.

Made in CHINA!!!
Made in China. I don’t understand why a business would flat out lie about their products and think people are too stupid to read. I wish the state department would find them out of business. Thanks for wasting my time and giving me an errand.

Nicely crafted - much better than flimsy OEM
Got this to replace the plastic door latch my grandson broke ('hey- that's not a handle - snap!"). The metal construction feels great and is very smooth to use. The latch grabs well too on the door frame latch plate. This is a quality upgrade, if your camper/RV utilizes a plastic latch. good stuff!
