Cleaning Kit for Mosin Nagant 1891/30M, Dragoon, 91/30, M38, M39, M44 Rifles

Nice kit, much smaller than I expected. The pouch is cheesy, but it does its job. The brushes and rod attachments are ok. I bought the kit primarily for the tool and for the muzzle protector. Both work fine. After using the adjustment tool to take apart the bolt (google it or check youTube - the tool is a MUCH better way to unscrew the firing pin spring in the bolt instead of jamming the pin into a wood surface to unscrew it from the back - use the "4th notch"), I had to adjust my firing pin height. The tool showed that it was too far out (potential penetration). I will be shooting the weapon this weekend to confirm the setting from the tool, and will write back if the setting is bad due to using the tool's firing pin measurements (I suspect it will be fine). Don't bother using the end of the tool as a screwdriver (as it is intended) to break down the weapon - the tool is made of some very soft medal and it bent the screwdriver edge of the tool on the first tough screw (thus, NOT 5 stars). Worthless from that perspective, but heck, I think everyone owns a screwdriver, so don't let that influence your purchase of this kit. Overall, it worked really well to do what is is intended to do.

Just what i expected. I mainly got it for the multi-tool and to have all of the components that should be with a Monag, but I would not even consider using the bore brush assemblies. The bore brush and cleaning rods are the main culprits of damaged crowns. Still, the tool works well for disassembly and I was able to go/no-go my firing pin so "i like it."If your getting this for posterity and or the multi-tool it is a good purchase. If you are getting it as a cleaning kit, well, good luck.

This might be from any of the 16 nations that built Mosin Nagants, but, the price is RIGHT! so that I havespares for the field! Usually carry one Firing pin/Bayonet remover/ Screwdriver with me, at all times.But, I actually got a 8 inch piece of barrel from a Bubba, and expand all my bayonets to fit properly...so, don't need the remover tool...You know, the kit for a $99.00 rifle shouldn't cost much more than a small percent of the cost of the rifle!This is what I consider a fine deal...

The items don't feel amazing in quality, but I've seen an actual set before. So I dunno. They work well though, look up youtube videos on how to use it.The multitool was what I really wanted. I wanted to use the notches to figure out if the height of the firing pin was adjusted properly but the multitool I got was all the same notch, so it was no good.The bag is nice to have though.

Works great, but fair warning: This had a "Made in China" sticker right on it. Definitely not surplus.... But, if you aren't worried about that, it works exactly as intended. As I said in the title, it's only a replica, but it is fully functional and looks great - just pull that darned "China" (you said that like Trump, didn't you?) sticker off.

Everything was included in the kit, shipping was fast as well. However I really only ordered this for the multi-tool. I noticed that my multi-tool firing pin slots didn't seem quite right. The two holes that were supposed to be .075 and .095 were later found to be .115 and .110 respectively. I did use a micrometer with a depth gauge to be accurate. So I had to make my own firing pin slots with a file on the flip side. Make sure to check the depth of your slots before using. These things are probably machine pressed in mass production and have little quality control and at least mine was not accurate.

This is a helpful kit that will extend the reach of the rifle cleaning rod that goes along with your rifle.It is 100 years old, or so it seams, and Russian, so it is quite utilitarian and excludes all refined qualities.Pretty handy kit for a Mosin Nagant rifle.
