The Bear Books are my absolute favorite books to read to my 2 year old
The Bear Books are my absolute favorite books to read to my 2 year old. We already own several of them but somehow hadn’t picked this one up yet. Bear Feels Sick is charming and sweet — no surprise there! I appreciate that each Bear book contains an actual story, and that I don’t feel silly while reading these aloud like I do with some other children’s books (*ahem* Sandra Boynton). The little lessons taught about friendship are great, and the illustrations are simply beautiful. Most importantly, though, my daughter loves these books and she’s always excited to read one before bed.

Lovely story and illustrations
The story is about friends taking care of bear while he is sick. (A sick child could relate to his symptoms.) The bear gets better after the tlc given by friends. The story illustrates what we can do to help someone when they are sick. The friends get sick after bear is better and so bear returns their kindness by helping them. Great learning book while being a short, sweet story. Illustrations are superb.

Great for bedtime!
After the original (Bear Snores On), this is my next favorite book from the collection. It's a sweet story about the friends taking care of each other, and is a great quiet bedtime read! Or nice & relaxing if your little one is sick. LOVE these books!!

Bear feels sick, but he has friends to help!
One of my favorite bear books. Bear is found not feeling very well. All of his forest friends band together to bring the poor bear back to health. Bear does feel better but in his friends efforts to help him they all end up sick and bear takes care of them.

The Bear books is one of my favorite kid series
I love the Bear book by Karma Wilson! The pictures are beautiful and the stories are very cute. We have been reading them to our daughter since she was about 18 months and they have always kept her attention. Plus as a parent, I enjoy the word flow. So many children's books out there are difficult to read because they try to make everything rhyme or have an unusual rhythm. I have already purchased several additional copies for other parent friends. Please note that most of these books are available in both board book, paperback or hardback. We've been collecting them in board book so that they are a little more toddler friendly.

Excellent addition to our library
Artwork: nicely done and tells the story even without the words Text: message is simple yet moving in language that appeals to toddlers and is a pleasant cadence for adults Construction: durable for tossing from bed to floor to shelf without breaking down at the edges I've read through Karma Wilson's other "Bear..." series and this is by far the best quality text.

Beautifully illustrated, touching story about a bear that gets sick & his animal friends, rally round to help him feel better. This book shows how great friendship can be & shows children caring & empathy in a beautiful way. He then repays their concentrate for him whilst sick by looking after them when they got his sickness. The illustrations help to enumerse you in this positive story. I'm sure this would be useful for children who aren't sure if they want to accept help from others or helping children understand why others care about them ie because their an important part of their life, whatever happened to them. Also a great read if your little on is sick , to cheer them up
