It’s The Best Out There And I Have The Fix To It’s One Problem!
I have purchased several of these little gems. I have tried others but they do not compare. What this one has that others don’t... is POWER! Just look, it has an incredible 5800 RPMS in this tiny little clipper. Amazing! We use them on our 8 toy poodles. Poodle fur can be challenging to trim with all the curls and swirls. It trims like no other clipper I have used, including our much larger, professional trimmers. In fact, our $300 oster professional trimmer sits in the drawer most of the time and we use this. It is not designed or meant for overall use on a dog. We, clearly overuse it. Also, don’t groom our dogs as often as we should, which makes grooming more difficult on us and the Trimmer. My son refuses to use the oster or any other and uses this for their entire bodies. He says it cuts faster & better, works better with tangles, it’s small & easy to handle, no cord to get in the way, less noisy, light weight and does not get so hot quickly. I use the oster for their main body and this clipper for all other areas. Works great near the eyes and outer part of ear, tummy area, back end, etc. My son does perfectly trimmed little feet with it. They are easy to get around the eyes and other delicate areas without mishaps. My hand does not get painful holding this one, like the others. We use rechargeable batteries and they seem to last a decent amount of time. The price is incredible, for this amount of power. We were prepared to buy a new one every month, if need be, for our grooming but our clippers have lasted over a year, or two, with heavy use. It costs so much more, to have just one dog professionally groomed…one time. When you look at it that way, it is really a bargain.THE BIG PROBLEM: Ok, many of you have said this, that it stalls frequently and this is true. You hit it against something when it stalls, to get it going again. I have done this so many times, myself, until I found a fix for it. Most think it is a bad battery connection but it is not. If that were it, with all the complaints, this company would surely have fixed that by now. The battery fits in quite firmly and has a good connection, except occasional ones that are defective in production, I assume. I doubt it is structurally fixable, without major changes to it’s size which is the main attraction to this clipper. It is important to have a strong battery though to make it move faster to help get through the hair smoothly. Oh, please don’t forget that, as with all clippers, sometimes the vibration can cause the screws to come loose which hold the blade on and you may need to tighten them a little now and then-just dont tighten them too much. The problem with this Clipper is, It cuts so fast and efficiently that the fur gets caught between that small blade and the under plate and it stalls, sometimes, often. I have found if we trim after a bath & conditioning and the fur is clean, it does not stall it as often. Fur is more moist from conditioning? A little brush comes with it to clean the fur out from under the blade, but that can be a little time consuming, to stop and brush the fur out, when it stalls. It also comes in to play for stalling, the type of fur, density of fur, etc. With this problem, you may wonder why we keep buying and using this little clipper, while all the others sit in the drawers unused? We found the fix!THE FIX: I folded paper paper towels near by and when it stalls I would first use the paper towel it grip it and rub along and under the blade area firmly, to remove the loose fur. I would then spray an oil type make-up remover lightly on the blade. This worked well. Then, recently, I remembered the Oster blade conditioner coolant spray in a can, I used on my oster trimmers, in the past when it got so hot to cool it off quickly. I decided to order a can of that from Amazon to try on it. Bingo! Almost perfect fix. I think, it makes the fur slippery, so the blade can move it out with movement, so it doesn’t get stuck, under the blade, which causes it to stall. Now when it stalls I just spray that on the blade quickly and it immediately starts going again, on its own, about 95% of the time. (Just a note here- make sure you don’t let the spray get in the dogs face) Also, once I use this spray, it doesn’t stall nearly as often. I don’t even have to clean the blade with the paper towels like I use to, although I do wipe it now and then, since we use these clippers heavily and for longer periods of time than most do. If you use it short term it may not stall on you. Yes, once in awhile, I still have to hit it against the counter (covered with a towel), lightly, after spraying, when trying to get through a heavier fur or matted area. Get a can of this lubricant/coolant/cleaner to use with this. You will be so glad you did. It ’s a big can and lasts a long time. It is sooo worth it! It also instantly cools the blade after extended use. This is still the best portable, no cord, light weight trimmer out there. A great product. I don’t have patience with the sluggish, trimmers that don’t cut worth a darn, pull and hurt my dogs while trimming. This has THE POWER!!! I would have kept using this one even without the can of blade lubricant, but it has made trimming so much faster, less frustrating and easier now. So…buy this trimmer, it is the best like it out there-and buy the can of lubricant blade cleaner with it. You’ll be all set! Sorry so long, but hoping this will be of help to someone.

Excellent small clipper
I’m a retired groomer and this is the second Oster pocket trimmer that I’ve had for use on my own dogs. The 1st one lasted about 10 years. It has enough power for clipping small areas like the hair that grows on the bottom of my Sheltie’s feet and is very quiet. But beware novice groomers. The blade without the guard will cut almost as close as a surgical blade on shorter hair and cause clipper burn. It has that much power.

Best deal for little faces and feet.
I am certain that I read reviews of this item before purchasing it. Perhaps I ended up buying from a different seller. It was those reviews that gave me good insight as to how to use this (and why it was worth buying). It can stall if it gets hair caught in it, hair that you might not see and think it died. Not the case. If it slows or stalls, use the little brush to clear the teeth well and put a couple of drops of oil on it.I have poodle puppies who are the hardest puppies to groom in my many decades of having poodles. I like to keep their faces shaved to keept hem clean. As is usual when grooming dogs, it is the tools they hate, not the actual grooming. This little clipper enabled me to do puppy faces and feet and do them even better than with big clippers. It is tiny and quiet (as trimmers go). I can hold them on my lap and trim them. I started by running the back end of the trimmer over their heads and feet, just to get them used to the vibration and sound. I can now do around their eyes (the crucial spot) pretty easily even without their cooperation. Normally I would not buy clippers that were not rechargeable but these were so cheap the risk was small. They are just powerful enough and the batteries have lasted for a very long time. After using it just a couple of times I ordered another for back-up. (I would be willing to order one every month if need be - that's how much easier it makes my life) I have 3 professional dog clippers, two human hair trimmers that I use for faces on the bigger dogs (or did... I've been using these little ones on the "bigger" dogs too. My bigger dogs are 15 lbs). These little cheap clippers are my favorite. Oster Cordless Pocket Trimmer . Even though I have not used the back-up clipper I bought, I may buy another back-up, just in case.Forget the attachment. Those never work on dogs, hair gets caught. At least for me. Perhaps you are a better groomer than I am.Update 4/16. I came back to buy another pair or two of these and the price has gone from about 8.95 to $14.92. Really?! A 50% price jump is not acceptable!! I'm very dismayed and disappointed.

It quits working after a handful of months of use
I love the easy use of this so much. It works so well, but it tends to quit working so soon. It's not a battery issue either. I'll put brand new from the store batteries in it and it just won't work. It only last a handful of months for me. This is my 2nd one I've had. It's so frustrating because I like the product so well.

One paw per battery and battery cover is broken.
Love the size and shape but battery life is awful and first time I removed the battery cover a tab snapped off and now the cover won’t click into place.
