2 Pack Ice Cube Tray, 2" Sphere Ice Ball Mold with Lid & Large Square Maker

I appreciate that they put the balls and squares together this time. Because, sometimes you feel like a ball, sometimes you don't. IDK if it's me or if they did something to the trays but it's much easier to empty than it used to be. The only thing is filling up the balls. They give you a couple of funnels but you really need to use just the one. And, I've found if you first fill the bottom half of the balls, then cover it, then hold the ONE funnel with your left hand and use something like a measuring cup, (anything with a spout), it's easier and faster. It won't take much more water to fill it so a couple of pours into your funnel and it will overflow. The balls come out perfectly and are easy to remove from the tray. I'll fill a couple of gallon bags for each, which takes a half day. These are great! Highly recommend!

I have purchased several ice molds and never been happy with the results. This mold combines the best of all worlds to rise to the top of the heap. The plastic bottom mold is brilliant because it adds needed stiffness. The silicone upper mold is also great and is the typical material used. What really sets this mold apart are the eight button closures that insure the two mold halves are aligned properly and snug against each other. This is the feature that makes all the competitive silicone molds a waste of money (because they all leak). I have had no issues removing the ball ice from the mold, grab the silicone tab on one end and then peel the silicone top off and pop the cubes out. I love this mold. For completeness, I have not used the cube mold and I can see that removing cubes from that mold is probably a nightmare.

seems to work well. a bit of a pain to fill the round ones. I gave up on the little (tiny!) funnel they provide you with and just dumped water from a glass, but that left water on the outside that also froze up. At the end of the day, it wasn't a huge issue though.

Nifty “glamour “ ice cubes! My ice maker quit working and fixing it was going to cost a fortune so I opted for making ice myself. I now have regular size ice, big round ice balls and oversized square cubes at my fingertips. No more of the small, quick melting ice from the ice maker. I’m better at it!!

These are fun for cocktails. It’s a little tricky to get the ice balls to come out completely filled of ice and round. I had to squeeze the air out of them and keep adding water and it wasn’t a big deal was I figured it out.

Gift for my son. He has his PD buddies over twice a month for drinks & cigars. He reports "these balls and cubes are really awesome Mom, they melt slow and don't water down our drinks but they keep them cold!" He likes to alternate between the round and square balls/cubes. This tray set has both! (We are currently on day 33 in a row of 100+ temps in Texas)... I also gifted him a set of 6 cut crystal whiskey glasses to go with the trays.

Square tray get 2 stars for being a reprehensible design. Had to run warm water over outside of tray for 45 seconds before cubes would release. And oddly, despite their large size they melt really quickly. Spherical ice cube tray gets five stars. I found it very easy to use, though I realize now I overfilled it - don't forget expansion! Ice cubes were easy to remove from the tray and I love the shape. I actually like both shapes and can't wait to make a cocktail or whiskey on the rocks. Tip! I transferred the cubes and spheres to a plastic bag so that they wouldn't evaporate in my frost free freezer. This also allows them to have a clean taste. I did not experience any unpleasantness as far as odor or taste transferred from the trays to the ice cubes, but I washed mine out thoroughly with soap and water prior to using. For the price, the quality is excellent and I learned a lot from the cube tray. In future I would just buy a tray for sphere shaped ice cubes.
