I bought this scanner as an upgrade from a topdon artidiag 900 lite mainly because it has a lot more special functions and bi-directional controls as well as topology and can do a full vehicle scann quickly with the press of only a few buttons. This comes in real handy as a flat rate technician when every minute counts. The tool it's self is very easy to use and laid out well. The WiFi VCI is so much quicker than the topdon Bluetooth which is also a major plus. So far I'm loving it and it comes with three years free updates so it easily will pay for itself. X-tool customer service has also been great to work with ( had an issue with the xtool tp500 and they were able to help me out). Hands down worth the money if your looking for a nice scan tool that won't break the bank!!

Received this D9S a couple of weeks ago and had the opportunity to use it a few times. I am amazed at the quality of the build and the ease of operation of this tool. First thing I noticed is the case that it comes in and the weight. The case is large with plenty of room for all the cables and adaptors without having to force them into place. The tool is large and easy to read and use even when laying under a car to trouble shoot vent solenoid issues on a 2012 Buick LaCrosse. Connection to the WiFi at my home is quick and easy. Registration with xTool was quick without any unnecessary steps. Updates to the operating system is easy as well as updates for the individual vehicle types. I really like the fact that the tool connection to the vehicle is by WiFi and not blue tooth or hard wired. I had a D8 before this that was hard wired and although it was an amazing tool itself it was harder to diagnose issues because you were tied to a short distance from the OBDII port due to short cable. This tool, the D9S, allows you to move anywhere you want and has a great signal distance that allows you to freely move around the vehicle without and restrictions. The WiFi is also much faster, with less lag time, than the Bluetooth connections on other tools. The WiFi connection and data transfer is instantaneous with no lag time like you are directly connected by cable to the OBDII. The scan time of the tool is quick, accurate and easy to understand. I have used it to identify issues with a 2012 Buick LaCrosse, (Evap vent solenoid, broken wire to vent solenoid), a 2013 Ford F150, (Anti Lock Brake, traction control, failed wheel speed sensor right rear wheel), a 2013 Nissan Altima, (No crank, no start, Bad neutral safety switch). Each of these issue were easily identified by doing manual activation of individual systems within the vehicle to identify what was working and what wasn't. For instance with the 2012 Buick, I was able to manually activate the vent solenoid while under the vehicle and could tell it was not activating. This led me to test wiring and found a broken ground wire. After repair I activated the solenoid again and it worked. If I had not been able to manually activate the individual solenoid I would have been replacing parts without know exactly where the issue may have been. I am highly impressed with this tool so far and will continue to use it in my day to day operation. It will save me time, and money, while troubleshooting and making repairs. Well worth the money and a bargain for what you get compared to other tools with the same abilities.

Loved the scanner for the most part sometimes it wouldn't work when trying to put brakes on service and had to rely on shop tools. That wasn't the worst part last week my screen randomly stopped working and emailed support no response so far.

Xtool D9, a real sturdy contender, you can feel the quality as soon as you lift the box it's a heavy blow moulded case, the accessories are not a cheap feel either, too have some weight and defiantly would stand up to commercial garage use. I was actually surprised with the tablets size its big chunky and has an impressive screen, boot time is fast too, it's android but a customised android which to me shouts a well thought about tool, there is no Google play store but thats a good thing means no ads and bloatware, and this dosent stop you from installing your own apps via usb (for easy transfer I'm using a ravpower wireless network/usb hub, which uses it's own file manager app and works a treat with this for file transfer on the go). Mind you this tool has 128gb of memory with over 100gb free for your own use anyway so moving data is not a priority. As for support, I've only had it a couple of weeks and there has already been at least 20 updates for various vehicle makes, A few questions I've had around vehicle connections and customer support has been supurb, factoring in the time difference (I'm in UK) we are talking less than a 24 response, which in my eyes is very acceptable. In general I'm REALLY impressed so far, the topology scan feature is really useful and graph combining looks good too though I've not had to use it for any diagnosis yet thankfully, but standard diagnosis has identified issues on a couple of family vehicles that a mid range icarsoft pro scanner has not reported on. Good job XTool a fan is born here!
