Great board for NAS or opensource firewall.
I bought this to replace my old celeron based pfsense firewall. This board also supports AES-NI which is a plus. I bought G.Skill F3-1600C9D-8GAO Ares Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1600 240-pin DIMM which works well on this board. Great mini-itx board for low power consumption without sacrificing performance.

It offers good everyday computing for a bargain price and the quality is good.
Its a nicely built motherboard, First off the specs. Its CPU is an AMD A8 APU (1.7ghz quad core) part with a TDP of 13 watts which puts it firmly into laptop performance territory (not too fast but decent all rounder) the integrated GPU is good enough for everyday tasks like web browsing, video streaming and the occasional light gaming session. As long as you don't expect it to run very intensive games you should find it adequate.Newer games like shooters and anything 3D at HD resolutions will definitely require a discrete video card yet the integrated video can handle older games and emulators with relative ease. (for example It can run the original Gears of War perfectly smooth @720p and the Nintendo 64 emulator runs flawlessly) Finally the integrated sound is pretty much the same as in most budget to mid-range boards these days which means its adequate for most use cases. For the cost its hard not to recommend it. It comes with a standard amount of USB 3 ports (4 in the back plus has headers for up to 4 additional ports) It can be upgraded with a better video card so it has modest gaming capabilities for those on a tight budget.(Edited to correct the number of USB ports on the back. I previously wrote 2 instead of 4.)

Stopped powering up after 2 weeks. I tested with 3 different confirmed working power supplies and a confirmed working power switch. I contacted Biostar for RMA and they refused to replace it because I didn't purchase it from an approved seller. I will not be purchasing another Biostar product.

A cheap basic board with mobile chip for CPU.
Bought it to use in a old Shuttle K45 case which had its motherboard go south. Works fine, nothing special considering its a mobile chip that not really that fast. I would caution BioStar has not updated the bios for Spectre variant 2 the last bios was in 2016 which was original release I think. I ask Biostar support about bios release for Spectre and they said it's not needed?? So take that as you will. I used the board with Ubuntu,Windows 10 and Linux Mint. All work well with the board.

This is the foundation of a great little workstation computer for basic office tasks
This is the foundation of a great little workstation computer for basic office tasks. It is NOT a gaming machine by any stretch of the imagination, but it is surprisingly capable with Win 10, 8 gigs of ram and a halfway decent hard drive.I have now built 4 machines on this board and have been happy with each one, one station even handles cading with the addition of a GT-730-2GBAll builds where with Western Digital Blue 1TB, and 8gig's of Ripjaws ramHey BioStar, I am impatiently waiting for the A10 version of this board to become mass-market available for two graphics stations I want to add to the workshop.

Decent Plex server
I bought this to be a low power Plex server and so far, for my needs (1080 max, one user), I have had no issues. Quick enough, cheap and very efficient.
