What's the max width that a belt can fit in it? I need to use it on my Amphipod hydration belt. I believe it's 2 inches.

My husband measured his and said it would comfortably hold 2 3/4" wide belt.

My note 8 with ghostek nautical measures 7 inches in height. will this case work?

Can't say for sure. I use mine for a Samsung S8+ in an Otterbox Defender case and nothing taller would fit (it just fits nicely) , but 1/2 wider would be doable.
