BASTION Slim Aluminum Bolt Action Pen, Pocket Pens for Men, EDC, Blue

Bought as a gift for a grad. He liked it.

The pen is well constructed and feels good in the hand and very compact. The ink can be of better quality. I purchased a gel ink from the same brand and it came destroyed and unfortunately they have not replaced.

This is my second pen from Bastion, and I have thoroughly enjoyed carrying the first one for almost a year (which is, weirdly, the longest I've ever used a single pen for). When I saw they'd released a slim version of it, I had to have it, because the original Bastion pen is just a bit too chunky to be truly comfortable for me. The slim Bastion is just perfect. Solidly built, good weight and balance, and perfectly comfortable in my hand. I use a Jetstream refill in it, and it writes like a dream. And the bolt-action mechanism makes a great fidget toy. Side note: These pens are built so solidly that they can take a beating. My old one is only lightly scuffed after a year of every day use (and every day dropping). They also clean up pretty quickly if a refill bursts (if you, for example, wash the pen with your laundry by accident...). It disassembled easily, including the bolt-action mechanism, and I was able to soak it in isopropyl alcohol for a few days to dissolve and rinse away the ink before reassembling it and putting in a fresh refill. Excellent pens!

Excellent quality, but aluminum pen is slippery and difficult to write with without applying more pressure. Would be tiring to write with for any length of time. Am returning pen.

I gave this to a co worker and he loves it! He won't use other pens now. Lol. Great quality and writes very well.

I was looking for a slim, lightweight pen that wasn't a click-top, twist, or cap style. I needed something to fit in my flight suit pocket that wouldn't get caught on the pocket or accidentally get clicked and pop open and stain my pocket. The pen is smooth and lightweight, as you'd expect for something made of aluminum. The bolt action part is a good fidget toy with a strong spring, which I'm assuming is why most people want to buy this style. However, it's just another run of the mill ballpoint pen. There's nothing special about how it writes, which should be the main reason you buy a pen. It flows okay, it's not too dark or too light, and takes a few strokes to get the ink actually on the paper fully. But the value for the money isn't there. This is not a premium pen as much as they try to make it seem. The "premium" box it comes in is a thin, cheap cardboard box with a little foam. Not really presentation worthy. This pen is absolutely not worth $40 (as of October 2025). Realistically this pen is worth $10, $20 maximum. If you want a good pen, this isn't for you. If you want something that looks neat and is fun to play with, go ahead and buy this expensive fidget toy. Update: after less than a month of moderate use, the pen has already ran out of ink. I've never had a pen that's lasted so little. I can't recommend this pen.

Excellent Pens, Made well, Love the Blue color, did not try the ink, I bought my own from Amazon: Schmidt P900 Parker Style Ballpoint Pen Refill, Medium Point, Black Ink. This ink is the BEST.

So called “Luxury pen” and not cheap, but arrived oxidized and with pitting on both the clip and aluminium body. I would have expected the clip to at least be stainless steel.
