What are these used for? I am attempting to get a temporary food permit and was told I need sanitizer strips - would this item be the right thing?

Yes, if you are using an Quaterary sanitizer which is commonly used in food establishments. These strips I found are not that good, their readings do not match their color scale. I almost got gigged on a food inspection, but I had the food inspector to test with his strips due to these reading low, He did and I was correct in that these strips were reading too low.
