ESP LTD TE Series TE-254 Electric Guitar, Distressed 3 Tone Burst

I personally don't find the neck pickup muddy. This guitar has some beautiful tones. It needed a few adjustments out of the box but once that was done, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. I'm very glad that I purchased it!

I’ve been pretty happy with this guitar. I am a pro musician and just wanted an extra Tele (I’m a fan of the ESP guitars in general, hence my interest in this instrument). Overall it plays beautifully and I’ve had no problems. It is heavier than my Fender Tele, without a doubt. The neck pickup is pretty dark and also has a much higher output than the middle or bridge position. I can tell that in the future the output jack will be an issue, as it arrived a little loose. (Output jack issues usually tend to plague lower quality guitars, so I was surprised at this in an ESP).April 2019 Update:Okay, after a year I’ve taken one star off. Here’s why: 1. that neck pickup was indeed SO dark and muddy that it truly needed to be altered in some way or replaced. I replaced it and the guitar sounds much better in the neck position. 2. The G string had an issue where it was in tune at the Nut and 12th fret, but played way sharp between frets 5-10. That’s a REALLY RARE issue on a guitar and required luthier work at the nut, which fixed it.

Great sound. Heavier than it looks. Sturdy. Pairs great with a tube screamer and a tube amp. Well worth the price.

Great guitar for the price. Good twang from the bridge pickup. The neck humbucked will absolutely get muddy though. Construction on this is great though the "relic" on the body looks heavily fabricated when looking close up. The neck is outstanding though. It is a HEAVY guitar body.Sustain is incredible. really the only downside is the muddy neck humbucker.
