They work. Again, and again, and again. Absolutely superb.
These are outstanding traps. I've caught 3 mice in the same trap, in the same evening. In another location, mouse after mouse on successive nights, until we'd caught all those who'd identified that particular target. We've used larger electronic traps very successfully to catch Glis Glis (Edible Dormice), which are an infestation local to our area. Those traps are humane and very effective, so we thought we'd try these ones for mice: Wow!We use bait paste, also available on Amazon, as it works even better than sultanas or freshly-cut apple pieces. It's also less messy, doesn't go off easily, and can be left it the trap for the next victim. When charged (which doesn't take long), these traps last for weeks without needing a fresh charge, and they indicate when they do. The mouse can sniff the bait through a rear grille, and then tries to find its way in. In doing so, it has to go right in to get to the bait, which causes it to get a quick high-voltage shock, which is tidy and doesn't give it time to make a mess. If it doesn't go quite far enough at first, a small trap door closes to stop it escaping, so it will eventually touch the right bits.To dispose of the carcass, you just unclip the left half from the power pack, take it outside, and flip the lid open with your nail before tipping the mouse out for the foxes or the birds. You don't even need gloves, as you never touch the traffic area, so you can just clip it back together, switch on again, and wait for the next customer. The trap has a red, slowly flashing LED on top to show you that it's on and has enough charge, and it turns green when activated. If that's not enough, a gentle beep also alerts you when it needs emptying. If there has been any dirtying of the contact plates from being outside, a quick scrub of the chamber under a tap can be done safely when it's detached from the power pack, and you're good-to-go again. The only problem I've had with these was when I forgot we still had some of the older type, which could run on standard or rechargeable AA batteries rather than the built-in Lithium battery of this new variant, and I plugged in the charger to a loud bang - I'd used non-rechargeable batteries and had forgotten! Luckily only the batteries were damaged. With fields all around, we're very proficient vermin catchers. These are by far and away the most effective, and easiest-to-use mousetraps we've ever come across. Really, really worth buying. We went straight back to Amazon to buy more.

Doesn't work
Nearly a month on, zero mice caught (packaging arrives reading unsuitable for mice, which is fitting). Save your money and just buy a mechanical trap.

No mess working trap.
I got this after a mouse trapped itself in our bin, no idea how it got in there as no other traces of it were found. This trap works, no bait supplied but a tiny amount of peanut butter caught two mice after one day waiting. The new clear window means you get to see if anything is caught within the trap, but it is easily disposed of once caught. For those animal lovers out there, just removed the battery pack and the spring loaded door will catch them alive. The only two downsides to this trap are the poor instructions. To set the trap door remove the battery pack by sliding the trap section away from yourself (the two curved sections held away.) Once done push the trap door into the trap until it touches the metal plate. bait is placed in the small recess at the curved end (not to tough the metal plate.)The other small downside is when you recharge, the cable supplied works perfectly but no three pin plug is supplied. Most mobile phones have USB three pin plug and using that works fine.A good product that was quickly delivered when ordered, glad I got it..

EXCELLENT MOUSE TRAP!
Very good upgrade. The built in rechargeable battery life is excellent. The improved indications are a good change. The trap door has proved effective (I have had catches where the mouse has managed to turn around inside the trap & is pointing to exit !) The ability to see what's inside is useful.I have successfully used electric traps for years, but this improved version is way better. Good value, highly recommend.

Worked, even though the system bugged slightly
Wow, okay it does work! I was a bit surprised, since when I looked at a distance, the red light was still flashing, and the entrance was still open, however there was actually a dead mouse inside when I looked a bit closer. So maybe it's a little buggy? It did the job though! I would prefer to not have the alarm functionality, it's a shame it can't be disabled. When testing the trap door, it does snap quite loudly, so I imagine it might wake you up if it's near by. I appreciate the tinted plastic lid for the mouse compartment, made it a bit less squeamish dealing with the dead mouse 🙈 The lid seems secure, but is relatively easy to pop open and let the mouse fall into the bin. It also came with a few sets of disposable gloves. The bait area is quite small on my one, but my mice seem to have a penchant for white chocolate, so I managed to slide a little chunk into the bait area and clearly it worked. Honestly, it seems pretty expensive for what it is, but it did work and it arrived super fast, so I don't begrudge it too much.
