Sharp the cutting prongs are a practical length for thick leather.Fair price and very fast service.Can not wait to use.

I'm just getting into leather work and I can't quite justify the expense of true quality stitching tools. But, my favorite saying is "I can't afford to buy cheap things."While the price was low, the quality is equally low. You get what you pay for. Lesson learned.The tool is painted or powder coated. The tips of the prongs are pointed but not particularly sharp. The first try to punch holes was not a great success. I used a mallet and a few whacks. Intentions were made but not very deep.One of the prongs is slightly shorter than the other.I used a diamond home to remove the paint and sharpen the tips a bit. After that, I polished the tips with a strop.I can now push the tool through the leather by hand.If you're handy with a few tools, you can make this thing an effective tool. If you don't have the ability or interest, don't bother, save up and buy some quality pricking irons.

This isn’t even 2mm this is a 4mm

all the tandy leather tools are "toys". not worth to be called tools. Tools aren't sharp to start with, the metal grade is low and tips get dull after only some usage.
