Very Special Edition with Great History of PAN Am
My Frat Brother was the co author of this edition of stories from former Pan Am employees and guests. It covers major events like first Cliippers,707, 747 flights, evac of kids from Vietnam, tragic 747 accident in Caribbean caused by ground controller error, Winston Churchill flights and lots more. Hard to put down once you start.

Witnesses to History
Of the very many Pan Am histories I've read of that storied airline, this is among the best, simply because it's told by the people who lived it. I enjoyed the short-chapter-story format. Having read other accounts of many experiences recorded here, I was pleased to learn some new perspective or data-points I was not aware of.There are many superb and resourced accounts of the Pan Am corporate history, like "American Saga," but this comes directly from witnesses to history, the fraternity of loyal Pan Am people. My only regret was that there were so few personal memories captured from the early days of seaplanes and WWII operations. Most come from the 60s-70s-80s-to the end in 1991. If you are a serious or even casual student of Pan Am history, this is a must-read.

The Greatest Air line that ever was....
Amazing and well written account of the lives of people in the Pan Am family by folks who lived it. As I did. I grew up in the Pan Am family. My father worked for them from 1962 to 1982, at Kennedy Airport as a mechanic. A few parts of the book were kind of a gut punch for me, but for those not quite as emotionally invested in the topic, it's a fascinating look at what working for the greatest air line that ever was, was like. A trip down memory lane for folks old enough to remember the golden years of American commercial aviation.

80 Years of Pan Am
More than 80 years ago, Pan Am embarked on a remarkable course of daring commitment and vision. No airline opened-and shrunk the world the Pan Am did. No other airline in the history of commercial aviation took as many risks, blazed as many new trails, seta high standard for service or brought together so many good people together from every corner of the world. If you are interested at all, in the history of commercial aviation this is one hell of a book. This book offers history in a different and most unique format: through the eye-wittness experiences of the people of Pan Am.The only problem with this book is that you cannot put it down!

The book simply is an excellent collection of stories based on the personal experiences of their authors. The book structure provides a sequential perspective of the airline's history, including the great achievements, and tribulations towards the end of its existence. As a former Pan Amer, I relieved many of the adventurous incidents that took place during my tenure. Pan Am was the greatest airline ever, with an unwavering pledge to humanitarian efforts, and patriotic service to its country.

A great read with a unique twist
A great read with a unique twist; this book chronicles the history of Pan American World Airways with a collection of stories from the people who worked for the airline. From pilots to ground crew to stewardesses, and station managers, the book tells the story of the rise and fall of what could safely be termed the worlds best airline at the time. Beginning with the flying boats and ending with the 747 jumbo jet, the book is difficult to put down; I found myself just wanting to keep on reading. I think you will too.

Great Gift for a former Pan Am employee!
My father worked for Pan Am for over 20 years. I got him this book for Christmas, and he couldn't put it down, even as we were trying to open other gifts. He loved it, identified with the stories, and even knew several of the people in the book. It was a great gift!

What every ex-panamer and airline enthusiasts should own
This is a must for all Pan Am people. Quite different from other books about airlines as it's individual accounts of events by the actual employees, who to this day are still in love with what was "Our Airline"
