Power Grips Not Bad
These are pretty good, not great but pretty good. Sometimes I have problems wrapping them around my shoe. It takes some time to get used to so maybe in a few months I will come back and give it a full 5 star rating. Right now when I launch off my bike it takes me some time to stick my shoe into the power grips and I'm fumbling it like the 49ers and I'm sure people are looking at me like what's going on with that guy? Another thing, you need to tighten them real good when you get them out of the box. I forgot to do this and on the maiden voyage my power grip came loose and I was not feeling good. I went home to tighten them with my allen wrench. It's fairly easy to install on your bike you need a 5/16 and that's standard. Once on, they are comfortable and you get a good feeling on them, it feels pretty secure and I don't have a problem once they're on..it's just that point where I'm getting on the bike it takes some used to in order to get it right.

Preferred For Powering Bicycles
I have four bicycles all equipped with Power Grip High Performance pedals and strap assemblies. I ride my bikes on surfaces ranging from smooth pavement to gravel roads. I don't like being limited to bicycling shoes. I am not a competitive rider. These Power Grip pedals allow me to ride mybikes with my favorite shoes or sandals. You do need to practice getting in and out of the Power Grips, but the procedure is quit easy.

If you don't go clipless, this is for you
Better than toe clips, better than clipless (I think) because you don't have to put on special shoes to ride. These still allow full 360-degree power, and prevent slipping when I shift to a low gear by accident! And natural to slip out of the straps at lights, no falling because you couldn't unclip.

Power Grips are Awesome!
These are great I've been riding with them on my mountain bike for a good 8 years now and wouldn't have anything else. I live in Japan and often commute on my Cannondale F5--commute along crazy twisty rural and small town Japanese roads where one must kick out of the peddles quickly now and then so they're great for city commuting. Also great for getting some pull when climbing and for longer distances as well. i.e. I once rode to the 5th climbing station on Mt. Fuji--very steep mile after mile all uphill and they worked like a charm. Try em you won't be disappointed.

Good, tight fit
These are nice. I have always had trouble with clipless pedals and consider them a real pain, so I switched to these. They keep your foot nice and tight on the pedal. For full disclosure, I'll say that I use these on a recumbent trike, not bike, so I'm not sure how easy it is to get in and out of these in a jiffy. I like the product a lot, though, so I bought a second pair to install on my bike. One small issue you should be aware of is that, due to the geometry of the strap with respect to your foot, if you make it quite tight, you can easily feel it on the side of your foot, but this may not bother you at all. The product certainly works.

noticable difference
I had been riding a new bike with the original pedals (a Giant Roam 2) for about 500 miles before installing these. One ride shows what I was missing. I've been riding using power grips for about 20 years now and have become quite accustomed to using them. The first power grips I had used holes for the length adjustment; this is the 2nd set I've had with the friction, but I've found that the default setup fits my preferred shoes nicely so I haven't made any further adjustments to them. Less constraining that the old traditional toe clips, and for my purposes, clipless pedals just won't work for me.

Power Grips - ok but wouldn't tour with them again.
I bought these as I hoped they would be 'good enough' to replace my cleated shoes for cycle touring. We do a fair bit of walking when touring, and it would be good to have proper walking shoes as my only pair of shoes. I found the Power Grips tricky to get adjusted correctly, but after tightening them in small increments 4 or 5 times I managed to get them fitting just right. The main problem I found was that the sole of my walking shoe would not slide easily into the pedal and required a lot of wiggling of my foot to get it seated comfortably. This required a lot more looking down than I was happy with. When getting started after stopping on a steep gradient it was often not possible to get the second foot in the pedal. This was especially difficult when passing traffic made it undesirable to get an attack of the wobbles while looking down. They would be great for suburban/city riding when jumping on the bike with street shoes - found them a much better option than the old toe clips.Overall I would not recommend them for touring - I breathed a sigh of relief when I clicked effortlessly back into my cleats on the first ride after coming back home.

Great pedals
Been using power grips probably since they first were available. I ride quite a bit 20 to 100+ miles a week. These things really lock your feet to the pedals and you can slip right out. Recommend highly.

Works well for those that don't like cleates.
Very good for people that don't like cleats. Works very well with the pedals that you get with it, highly recommend it.
