Quality And Low Price!! Excellent Ride and Control-Same as O.E.
I have to wonder about the negative reviews-if they simply got a defective shock-or in the case of thumping-sounds like a loose top nut.FIY the top stud is the EXACY same sizes as the O.E>-I re-used the stock top nut and washer. Same exact size. For those complaining about the length of the top stud-look at your old shock-you have to take the top washer of the old shock and put on the new one.Yes-they don't have instructions-as they are intended for professional mechanic installation. How ever-just some plain common sense will prevent installation error. It's a very easy job-just observe what your doing-and what you replacing.A floor jack; lug wrench/impact wrench for wheels.10mm, and 15mm socket (1/4 drive is fine), and 13mm wrench.Buy 4 10mmx1.25 lock nuts as well-the quick nuts usually break.Put the jack under the control are-but don't block the lower shock bolt access.IMHO they provide the same ride as O.E.\One of my originals rusted, and leaked out the oil.Car is a cream puff-40k-2002 Lesabre Limited.

KYB Shocks ---- Good price for the quality received.
To shorten up the saga of these air shocks, it took 3 sets to get a workable pair on my 2000 Buick Park Avenue. First set arrived minus some of the hardware. Sent a second set; missing hardware also but pirated enough from first pair to make a workable shock system, or so I thought. Install on vehicle, hear rattles from INSIDE one of the units and tapping on it produces a metallic sound as though something is loose inside. Received 3rd set of shocks, works perfect and no noise whatsoever. One thing I learned while installing/removing these shocks is this: I became quite good at doing them in no time flat! Thankfully I have long arms and could reach into trunk AND into wheel well at same time to secure the upper post of the shock without dropping it. KYB does make good shocks but methinks that I received units made on a Monday. Have installed many shocks in the KYB line on early Datsun Z-cars and these gas shocks fit perfectly into the strut tubes of the old oil type shocks that came as original equipment. These shocks replaced the Monroe Leak-o-Matic units that had oil coming out of the air inlet fitting and those were returned to the local parts house.Shocks are working well and no runs, drips or errors so far. Finding bumpy roads in my local neighborhood is easy and occasionally I will cruise down these streets to check durability of all the installed hardware including the upper shock tower mounting dampeners. Works great and holding up quite well, even though it took 3 tries but "stuff happens."

Installed on my 2007 Cadillac DTS - These shocks are much nicer than the Monroe MA822.
I have been struggling with Monroe MA822 replacement shocks for the past 9 months. This past week, another Monroe shock went bad (this was the 3rd time in only 9 months) and begin to rattle and leak fluid. I spoke to several mechanics and they thought I would be better off with these KYBs so I decided to give them a try. I was impressed that they don't rattle when new the way all of my Monroe shocks did. Also, the Monroe's appeared to have been re-manufactured, these appear to be brand new. They installed just as easily and my car rides much better than it did with the Monroe's. The rattles are now gone and these are much smoother. I'm very pleased with this purchase, so far. In the event these shocks give me any problems, I'll update this review. So if you don't see any update, I can assure you they are still working fine at that point, too. I hope this helps.

Great shocks for money but confirm nut fits on the threads
I purchased this a replacement for my parents 07 Cadillac DTS. They work great and restored its rear suspension to how it used to ride. The only problem with this product is the 2 lock nuts included in the kit are not the right size. The shaft on the shocks are M10 and the nuts included are slightly bigger and most likely imperial. But if you have the original shocks you are taking off, you can remove the lock nuts from that and they should be able to reuse them. It would also be nice to get new mounting screws for the bottom brackets as they are not included and the old ones are prone to breaking or stripping out.

Like riding on a cloud
I can't say enough about my love for my 2001 Buick LeSabre, she's had a rough life. Nearly 200k miles lots of dings and scratches and 2 deer hits just in the two years I've had her. But I've treated her with the love she deserves I've repaired everything and looks aside she is a top notch machine. The last go around was some rear brakes and new lines. Hey while in doing this I thought I wonder if I can get the rear air ride suspension functioning again. With a little contact cleaning on some terminals I had it breathing again, but sadly the bellows on the shocks were shredded. These sweet KYB socks fixed all of that, they fit perfectly the air lines plugged right into them and voila! I am riding on a self leveling cloud once again. Excellent shocks, easy installation...
These shocks fit my 2004 Bonneville perfectly. GREAT deal from Amazon, especially compared to OEM shocks, or even the local auto parts store. Installed without a hitch. Some reviews complain they ride too stiff. When I bought this car, the original shocks were beyond worn out--one was actually broken in two, and the other had leaked all its oil. They were doing nothing for the car. So, I had no experience with the original shocks to compare to these. But, I LIKE a firm ride, and when you carry passengers, the extra firmness will come in handy. Car rides beautifully.
