What keeps the plates from just falling over? It looks like the plastic rack would not be sturdy. Does it hold up well?

How do you clean the microfiber base? Is it machine washable?

Can you order just the pad with the elastic bands? So far I’m using the rack with other pads I have when the one that comes with it is in the wash.
