Powerful, reliable pump that performs exactly as advertised
I’ve been using the Red Lion RJS-75-PREM 3/4 HP pump for a few weeks now, and so far it has been fantastic. Installation was straightforward the instructions are clear, and the mounting holes and connections lined up perfectly with my existing setup. The 115/230V dual-voltage option is convenient, letting you adapt to different circuits if needed. Once running, the pump delivers strong, consistent flow. It easily reaches the rated 16 GPM, and I’ve been impressed with how quietly it operates under load. Even when running for extended periods, it doesn’t overheat or lose performance, which gives me confidence for long-term use. The build quality feels solid: heavy-duty materials, tight fittings, and robust design. It’s clear this pump is built to last. One thing I particularly like is how easy it is to monitor and maintain. The clear inlet and outlet ports make connections simple, and I appreciate the straightforward access to the internal components for periodic inspection. I’ve also noticed the pump handles minor debris in the water without clogging or damage, which is a huge bonus for outdoor or utility applications. So far, I haven’t encountered any issues, and it has exceeded my expectations for both performance and reliability. For anyone needing a mid-sized utility pump that combines power, durability, and quiet operation, this Red Lion model is an excellent choice. I would recommend pairing it with proper hoses and fittings rated for your intended use to get the best long-term results. Overall, a high-quality, dependable pump exactly what I needed. Solid 5 stars.

This is a powerful, quiet and well-made cast iron pump
I had a 3/4 HP shallow well jet pump from Sears that had a fiberglass reinforced pump housing. I pump irrigation water out of a river in central Texas. I've had 4 of these over the last 30 years and they die when we have a flash flood and they die via electrical shorts. If know its' going to flood, I'll pull the pump out or turn off power. It may be submerged, but if no electricity is applied the pump will survive and run after it dries. After the last one died in a flood, I found out Sears wasn't selling shallow well jet pumps anymore. So I had to get some other brand. I had had a few issues with the fiberglass pump housing where it would crack and either leak or allow in air losing prime. So I was attracted to the cast iron housing. As luck would have it the pump suction was at the same height off the floor of a pump house which made installation easy. I did have to rework the discharge lines which was easy. I've included a photo. This pump is much more powerful than the earlier model and is extremely quiet . I'm a Prime Member and decided to buy another one and keep it in the garage as a spare if the first dies in a flood. I paid $239 for the first one, and when I went to buy the second the price was about $250 and then jumped to $281. There's a website camelcamelcamel.com which tracks prices of an Amazon product you want to buy. I used that, waited a few weeks and bought the second for the same $239. I'm a Happy Camper!!!! New: Attached is a screen shot of the camelcamelcamel.com web page showing the price history of this pump. It's worth following price changes for more expensive items.

Do not buy.
The pump is installed on a sand point well that is 18’ deep, with 5 feet of water over the point. The first unit I received would not prime, even when tested using a drum full of water. The second and current unit no longer maintains a prime. A Gould pump connected to the same system works flawlessly. Don’t waste your time or money—purchase a quality pump the first time.

Cast iron housing and pipe fittings are good quality. Good pump for the price.
Using this for house water to our pressure tank, set at 40 to 55 psi. The pump came complete, ready to install. Runs great, quiet and smooth, pumps up to shutoff pressure fairly quick for this type of unit. I did change the pressure switch to one with a low pressure shutoff, so if we the holding tank goes dry the pump wont burn up.

High quality product well packaged and works great.
The guy who installed this pump was highly impressed, said it was 1000 times better than the one in stock at the local blue hardware store. He couldn’t believe it when I said it was only $20 more. While it’s not mentioned in the description, a pressure gauge is included in the box as well as an assortment of extra plugs for the drain, priming and other plugs. I could definitely see one of those getting lost if you’re winterizing and dewinterizing the pump every year so I thought that was a nice touch. I replaced a very old 1/2 hp pump that was running constantly with this 3/4 hp one and the difference was astonishing. It takes like 30 seconds to come to pressure and shut off, and it is nearly silent. The fact that it is dual voltage is a nice feature. If there was an extended power outage it would take about two minutes to switch it to 110 and hook it up to a generator. Not all generators have 220 output so it’s definitely nice to have the option to go back to 110 with this pump if needed.

nice and quiet, cheap thin casing.
Super quiet, GPM is as advertised, easy to prime, however... While installing a 1.5 inch pvc fitting into the intake, I managed to over tighten and cause a hairline crack in the casing. {should not have happened, this is not my first pump rodeo.} So i had to spend an additional $93 for the "Red Lion 305584001 Case Kit for All RJS-PREM Shallow Well Jet Pump Models, Red". Interestingly the replacement casing has a thicker wall..., If that had not failed, it would have received 5 stars here. IMHO, that was at least a 3 star deduction. Sorry.

Great pump, rebuild parts available
This is a good quality jet pump. Rebuild parts are readily available, unlike many of the pumps from China that you throw away after they wear out. The three warranty is only OK, as Red Lion will only supply you with one part or kit. My first pump had pump housing threads that corroded or eroded so the pump nozzle would not seat, this also caused the impeller and diffuser to fail. Red Lion supplied a new pump case, but not the rebuild kit under warranty. Overall I would, recommend this pump.

We have had the product less than three months and it has quite working.
Seemed great for the first month and a half, then it over heated several times. We had to leave on vacation, and when we got back or will not work at all. Completely dead.

So far so good
Just got this pump up and running today. I’ve had a number of different pump’s over the years and this one was the best yet. Quiet, very quiet. I will review again if anything changes but as of now I quite like this pump. Bought a Burcam recently and it was noisy along with leaking. They took it back without an issue. I’d buy this one again
