Fantastic
Solosite is great. Usually, when I scrape my knee, a thick scab forms which lasts for about two months. When the scab comes off, there is a red scar that lasts for lots more months. Now, with Solosite, in two WEEKS the scrape was fully healed. No scab, no scar. I can hardly tell there was a scrape. Clean the wound. Apply a thick (1/4 inch) layer of Solosite. Put the dressing on loose, so it does not squash the Solosite. I changed the dressing (with new Solosite) two times a day for the first two days, then switched to once a day. Maybe continue two a day for longer. Use no-stick pads. You are pretty much healed when the dressing pads no longer show signs of blood or other fluids. I am now continuing the Solosite for about five days after this point. I have already purchased a new tube of Solosite to be ready for next time. Great stuff.

Working Wonders
I've typically had good experiences with Smith & Nephew products. This wound gel is yet another good, and really great, experience. I ordered and received a 3-ounce tube of Solosite Wound Gel. It was appropriately packaged and very nicely sealed. I wanted to use this on a wound that was forming on the end of my stump - I'm an amputee. It wasn't a horrible wound, but it had great potential to get worse. I started using this gel and found that it really helped my wound healing. It began healing more quickly and quite thoroughly. I used a light bandage over it and have just been super happy with the results. This was really a difficult sore and I've been very happy with my results. The gel is relatively light and smooths on easily. It's more liquidy than I expected, however, it's pretty easy to figure out how much to apply. I don't use very much at all per use and I've been very happy with results. This wound gel has worked beautifully for me. It's effective, healing, cost-effective, and easy to use. These are all wins for me and I would easily turn to this gel first the next time I have a wound issue.

Excellent for open wounds, ulcers, burns, skin scrapes, sores.
Fantastic wound gel!!! I use a dab on the Xeroform Wound Bandage (cut into pieces to save money) with a heavy damp gauze pad behind it, and it cools the wound so well. This seals off the wound from pathogens, helps with autolytic debridement (necrotic tissue gunk removal), and cools angy wounds down. Keeps wound hydrated and not dried up. Very important for slow healing wounds. Absolutely get this for open raw wounds. Not needed for cuts but skin scrapes will benefit hugely from this. Be sure not to overlap this gel too much on intact skin. The constant moisture can irritate healthy skin. You can add a band of Triad Wound Dressing or Zinc Diaper Rash ointment around the wound to keep intact skin dry and free from infections and fungals, while wound remains moist.

This stuff is amazing! I have had a slow healing surgical wound sice November, found this stuff on Google and it is amazing!! In just 2 weeks it is halfway healed, I've seen more healing in 2 weeks than I have in months.

Disappointing
I have not used this product on open wounds, so I cannot comment on its healing properties. Thankfully, the open ulcers that were on my ankle have healed through my use of another wound dressing. However, the skin where the ulcers used to be, as well as the surrounding area, has been weakened by the ulcers. I have been using the hydrogel wound dressing that healed the ulcers to keep that skin soft and somewhat protected from injury and to help prevent ulcers from reopening. It works great. I ran out of that hydrogel and my usual sources for it have been out of stock for a while, so I have been looking for a substitute. Since this product is advertised as a hydrogel wound dressing, I hoped that it might do the job. However, it hasn't. This product maintains moisture by coating the skin with a film, but it doesn't soak in to soften and strengthen the skin. When I wash the area in preparation for re-medicating and re-bandaging, the old film comes off in flakes and makes a real mess. Also, instead of soothing the skin, this product makes my skin itch. Unfortunately, I will have to add this product to the shelf of other unhelpful products that I have tried.
