I have African-American 4C hair and a lot of other bleach I’ve used can only lift my hair to about a red level. This lists me all the way up to a yellow blonde. It doesn’t smell super harsh, and it’s really easy to apply.

This lightener really does lift extremely well!I have used many lighteners throughout my journey from dark brown to a very light ash blonde/platinmum blonde. I have used powder, cream, and even oil based lighteners, but I definitely prefer cream.I love Guy Tang, I think he is incredibly talented at what he does, so I was very excited when I learned he had a haircare line several years ago, I just didn't get around to trying any of them out until purchasing this lightener.I have it a 5 out if 5 because it lifted very quickly, even when using Olaplex No. 1. It was a very creamy consistently that made it easier to put on with more precision. This lightener did not dry up quickly like some of them do, which is very important because once the lightener dries on the hair, it stops processing/lightening. So I really like the cream formulas that stay really creamy, thick and moist throughout the whole process. This may be because of the Olaplex, but I have always used Olaplex with all of my lighteners, so I really do feel like Guy Tang's "The Big 9" lightener was a bit less harsh or damaging to my hair, if that's even possible?!?... I just didn't feel like my hair was as dry and brittle as it usually feels immediately after a lightening process.All in all, I can't say that I had even one complaint or negative experience so far using this product, so I would say absolutely purchase, it's worth the little bit of extra money for a great quality lightener!!!

I used this bleach with the G.T. 40 v developer and mixed in olaplex no 2. I applied it from the ends of my hair to the roots and I left it on for 45 minutes. I had previously used color oops which took it from darkest brown to red. This bleach took it from red to a bright yellow, so it worked pretty well.my hair is not damaged and after a few days I dyed it blue and it took very well. I reccomend this product, but if your hair is very dark, be prepared to have to do this a couple of times, of course everyone's hair is different, but for me it's took more than one application. It is worth waiting between using bleach or lighteners and using olaplex conditioner and hair mask in between just to help repair damage and keep hair healthy. I'm pleased with my results.

This product is amazing!! I was changing from a couple bright colors to blue but I needed to remove the original product from my hair... I use this product pairs with Schwarzkopf Blondeme 20 volume developer and decide to bleach bath my hair rather than the tradition bleaching method.. I did the initial bleach bath and I still had color present but it was already super light! I went for a second bleach bath and added heat and it removed all my fashion colors and lift me to a believe a level 9 on the ends! I then went back and did an all over the roots process and had the brightest color I have ever had in an at home bleach job!! I highly recommend this product it was worth the wait and made my hair almost platinum blonde!!

using a level 30 developer with a 1 part lightener to 1 part developer. started in the back on the hair not the roots, never do your roots first ever, work to the front of your hair and let process for 10 minutes and then do your root line, reason you do not do your root line first is because the heat of your head will process it faster and lift it faster to a lighter colour, i added olaplex to it that i also bought 1/16th and mixed well to a creamy consistency and waited a total of 30 minutes since my hair was already lifted to a level 8 redish blonde. it worked amazing without a toner to a level 9 almost ultra blonde. no damage to my hair ! recommended for those wanting to go silver or remove stubborn colour. i also recommend to use the same line of developer as you will not get the same results by using one not from the same line

I was dyed a level 4 before using this. Paired with a level 30 developer, I reached a level 8 in just one round, which was much lighter than I expected to be able to get. This doesn’t smell like Normal bleach or burn my eyes when it’s being applied. My best friend is a licensed cosmetologist and she was even very impressed by the quality of this product.
