Bodhran Economy Case, 18" x 5"

Good bag. My Bodrhan is 18 inches wide and 4 inches deep and there is plenty of room (think it would go to 20 inches and 6 deep). Gave it 4 stars cos the material is thinner plastic than I would have liked. Also the bag is black - It looks brown in the picture so I was expecting brown....

The case received was nylon rather than the suede leather look pictured. Nevertheless, it is a good, sturdy case at a reasonable price. The seller was courteous, friendly and responsive when contacted about combining two orders in one shipment, and promptly refunded the additional shipping charge. I am *mildly* disappointed at the black nylon rather than the brown suede leather look, but for the price and considering the cooperativeness of the merchant on the shipping issue, I would rate this item and the merchant as worthy of business. The case received was of excellent quality. The nylon is thick and protective (not cheap "tent" nylon), the handles good and sturdy. There's nothing "cheap" about this case at all. Well worth buying... but realize you will receive a sturdy black nylon rather than the picture shown.5 stars on delivery, service, and the quality of the case that was delivered.As side note: I purchase this with a quality bodhran and tipper. Fit snugly. An exact fit, actually. Not much padding to speak of, but I knew that before I bought it as I don’t take it out and about very much. Survived St. Pats though! There’s room for a couple of beaters or so in the pouch.

I got this larger size case for my 16" Buffalo drum so I could pad it for protection and it worked out perfectly!! Use half inch thick foam to line each side separately and your drum will be safe. I attached the foam with double sided duct tape though hot glue or anything else permanent would suffice as I was experimenting on the fit and will do the more long lasting application if the tape gives up ;DThe case is well made enough but the pocket will not hold the drum beater so just make a bubble wrap sleeve for it and insert it inside the open side of the drum - tucks in nicely. Can't beat the price on this case so you can PAD it for smaller uses. Best price on the foam is at JoAnn's when it's either 50% off or you have a coupon for same amount off!Next up is bag surface decorations - angel wing appliques or painted design.......

I bought 2 of these, one for my Native American Drum and one for my Irish Bodhran. I love them. They are absolutely what I hope they would be and more. I read some of the other reviews that mentioned that these were very thin, but I figured for the price what would be expected? Well, these are heavier than I had expected and both my drums, which are 18", fit in them perfectly. I suppose that there are heavier bags with padding that are more expensive, but these serve me well. I did buy some fleece fabric from the bolt-end bargain bins for $3.00 and cut it in half to place inside the drum case over the drum heads and that works fine for me as a way to protect my drums. The case is perfect for my needs and the price was well worth it.
