This is the best EDC and preparedness flashlight you will ever own.
OK, I know the title of this review is clickbaity and will trigger many who own and like other EDC flashlights. I also have very many other small EDC-type flashlights, a drawer-full or so, and over the last decade I suppose I've spent thousands on flashlights. I suppose I have a flashlight problem. This flashlight kinda ended my flashlight addiction. It is that good. It has the right combination of size, fit for purpose brightness, and features to make it my "for now, last ever" flashlight. The Aviator has a positive and easy-to-use lockout, a requirement for me, that keeps the light off when it's in a pocket or bag. No accidental discharges with the Aviator. I have the red light version. Have the combination of two brightness levels of white and red light is just enough "complication" for an EDC light. After using many geekier UIs over the years, I've found that more complication of UI isn't better. Ramping UIs are nice but not a requirement in my book. The Aviator has all the controls and levels it needs to get the job done and no more. The low levels are low enough for me and the high brightness modes, both red and white light are more than bright enough for any EDC use I might have for the Aviator. Finally, the build quality is excellent as I've come to expect from Surefire and the compatibility with aftermarket accessories is a plus.

Great Flashlight, but...
Excellent light. Less than a year from purchase the green light stopped working. Shure SureFire asked me to send the flash light for evaluation and repair since it has a life time warranty. Two months later I got a new flash light from SureFire. I was disappointed with the turned around time and the fact that the product failed within such a short time of purchase. Aside from that, I am happy with how the flashlight performs.

My Favorite Surefire
You will not be disappointed with a decision to execute and spend the money. Ive had no disappointment and only reliability from this purchase. I’ve had many Surefire models over the years and I still have many in rotation around the house, in the truck and in my work gear that I use with regularity. This is the one that I look for above all the others. Solid feel in the hand, tactile and responsive function and just the right size to keep on your person with ease.

Beautiful flashlight
I was opening the wrong chamber. Make sure not to open near base as battery will not come out. You have to open near top. So my review below is not correct. This light does not have huge amounts of light output but I don’t need it as it just wakes me up. On high setting it is ideal to search for something and on low to make sure I will make my way around room while minimizing risk of fall.I have the yellow one and I like it immensely.ONE PROBLEM: VERY EXPENSIVE SO I WILL GUARD IT CLOSELY. I HAVE MAIDS THAT HAVE ROBBED UMPTEEN THINGS BUT WIFE IS NOT CONVINCED AND RETAINS THEM. THEY ROBBED ONE OF MY 11 GUNS (only two are out and others are under triple lock) AND I THREATENED LEGAL ACTION AND IT MYSTERIOUSLY REAPPEARED AFTER THREE MONTHS.Ignore this:Beautiful flashlight but battery is stuck sold and will not come out notwithstanding my best efforts. Just now the product is new but once battery drains, it will become a $300 paperweight....

Durable, compact, bright.
I own many flashlights, from klarus, nitecore, olight, acebeam and more, while the aforementioned lights, this ones certainly more expensive but it’s the most versatile light for the size I’ve found and owned, also tested out the durability on accident by dropping it off a ladder onto concrete several times (about 7-8 foot drops) and it survived and kept going like a champ. If the battery is getting low, only the low mode on white light will work which is nice, instead of just outright dying. In addition, for the output the battery life is very good, and in my opinion not being able to use rechargeables is worth the cost for what you get in size and weight reductions.

Way overpriced for what it is - but you can't beat the quality. ( -1 star because of cost.)
I own several different types of Surefire lights and they each have their own features for particular needs and usages - mainly for outputting immense amounts of bright white light. This little Aviator on the other hand is perfect for allowing me to move about in a dark house (low level red light) without disturbing my sleeping family. Sometimes less is more...Still, the pint sized little tool will give you a good amount of white light as well if you need it. Yes - it is expensive. But try using a "FREE with purchase" (give away) pocket flashlight for awhile and see how long it takes before you want to start pulling your hair out trying to keep it working. Just saying...

Good flashlight
Lobe the flashlight. Don’t love the price. I’ve been looking for a unit for small to medium spaces with a red light. This fits perfectly for the amount of lumens. Would’ve preferred Amber but wasn’t willing to pay Surefire $50 more. Red is just as good.
