Smaller than expected and room for improvement, but idea is solid!
Ok, this is a really ingenious product! The concept is fantastic, but it is much smaller than you might expect. The bucket is only about 2 gallons. I was expecting something the size of a Home Depot bucket. You'll have to get smaller liners to go inside-- if you use a tall kitchen bag like I did, you will swamp the thing and cover the foot pedal. The foot pedal is pretty small to be completely useful, but keeping my hands away was appreciated. I imagine the best use of this might be outside the back door for poop bags from a daily walk. I am trying to use it in my dog run and yard, but at only 2 gallons, it lasts only a couple of days. The fly trap part of it could be MUCH bigger-- There were always flies swarming the outside of it and going in the holes, but they could get out. Making a cartridge the same size as the lid makes a lot of sense. I'd also up the sticky-quotient. In all, a good product, but could be improved. Smaller than expected.

It'a a bucket with a lid.
I wanted to luv this... but... it's a plastic bucket with a lid for fifty bucks. In fairness... they added a bucket-holder that has a foot pedal and a lid with a fly trap. So... good idea... but it just feels cheap. It's mostly (if not all) plastic, so it's light and falls over easily. For some reason, I thought this would be metal and have some weight to it. Lid isn't heavy enough to close tightly over bag-liner. Would work best on flat cement (falls over when on the lawn). I tried to return right away... submitted twice... no answer. So... keeping the fifty dollar bucket.Edit: It rained heavily the other day and water leaked into the bucket thru the holes in the lid (wasn't pretty). I covered the holes with duct tape.

I don't necessarily like the fact that it's a bright color and has ...
I bought this recently and so I can't speak to the flies due to the weather. However, it's exactly what I had in mind when I was shopping for a resolution for our new backyard. I wanted to be able to save my poop baggies for walks and not every individual instance. I don't necessarily like the fact that it's a bright color and has a big fly on it but that can be painted if it bothers me enough! It's not very big when you pick up leaves along with the poo! I definitely wanted something with a pedal and so this was the winner.

Works as expected
Works well, and does trap the flies! However, I wish the base was a little heavier, since it rips over easily in the wind (even though it's between the house and a large garbage can). Also, the rain gets into it quite easily, but overall I'm happy with it!

Wish I bought the sooner
This trash can works perfectly for me! Enough room for about a week's worth of poop bags and the containment of the flies is an added bonus

great concept.
great concept., however i need something a little bigger. our dog is a small@15lb. dog, but just seems a little small, and light(easy to knock over) . we have 3 kids, afraid it is too easy to get into....i will keep my eyes open for your sight to perhaps bring in a larger option...thanks so much!

Good, could be better....
Good idea. Works with the compostable xl bags we purchased. If I were to give design input I would suggest to make it out of a stronger or thicker abs type plastic and I would dome the lid up to prevent the fly trap from keeping the lid open(resting on the poop) before it is full, and to keep rainwater out.
