Ortho WeedClear Weed Killer for Lawns Concentrate, 1 gal.

This is a very good product that kills all types of weeds but doesn't harm your grass. I have bought this many times from Amazon at a really good price but Ive been using this for over 10 yrs. I will definitely buy again. If you need something that will actually kill the weeds in your lawn buy it & you won't be sorry. I recommend this to people all the time cause it works.

Didn’t do much to some weeds (dandelions, violets, crabgrass) but killed all the creeping Charlie.

It cuts down on dandilions and clover, but doesn't get rid of all of it. Covering our 1/4 acre property lawn takes about 1/3 of the gallon.

Excellent product. It kills weeds like a champion 🏆 I like it. I have some left otherwise I will reorder.

I guess I should have done my homework. This stuff did not kill a single weed, even mixed at 8X the recommended concentration. The "from the manufacturer" section above has a picture of the exact weed I most wanted dead, and none of them even look wilted after 3 days. The stuff in the same container I used a few years ago worked just fine on a similarly infested lawn. After some research I discovered the exact same product label is used for different active ingredients based on where the stuff is sold. My container from Amazon lacks Quinclorac which is needed to kill grassy weeds. Even the 2, 4-D mixture failed to kill clover or dandelion or a ton of other weeds in my yard. I fed the active ingredients to the a search engine's AI, and this was the response: "The active ingredient profile on your bottle means you have the all-lawn "base" formulation of Ortho WeedClear. Your specific formula does not contain Quinclorac. Instead, it uses a classic three-way broadleaf herbicide blend consisting of 2,4-D, Mecoprop-p (MCPP), and Dicamba. If you are noticing a change in performance compared to what you expected or previously used, here is exactly why: It will not kill crabgrass or other grassy weeds: Because this specific formulation lacks Quinclorac, it completely bypasses grassy weeds. It is strictly designed to target broadleaf weeds like dandelions, clover, dollarweed, and chickweed. If you previously used a version of WeedClear that wiped out crabgrass, you were using their "North" formulation (which contains 6.42% 2,4-D and 2.13% Quinclorac). It is highly concentrated for broadleaf weeds: This 8.658% 2,4-D blend is a higher concentration of standard broadleaf killer than the Quinclorac variations. It is incredibly effective on tough yard weeds, but it will do nothing against invasive grasses. It features excellent turf safety: This specific chemical balance allows it to be safely applied to a massive variety of both Northern and Southern established lawn types—including sensitive varieties like St. Augustinegrass, Centipedegrass, and Bahiagrass that can easily be damaged by other harsh formulas."

I am a long time frustrated user of these products. I usually apply these at twice the stated concentration. Other than crab grass and clover, all other weeds “laugh” at my efforts. This year I threw caution to the wind and applied 1.5 gallons across 9000 sq ft in two applications. It looks like my weeds are finally on death row. So this product does work but it takes several heavy applications before that occurs!

I’ve used Ortho products for over 15 years, and all of them worked. WeedClear is no exception. If your lawn has a weed (more likely a bunch of them), follow the directions, use an Ortho sprayer, hit the weed with the WeedClear, its over, case closed, problem solved.
