Is the maximum volume very loud? Looking for £40-£50 buds that offer a powerful bassy max volume like my old Enacfire E18s.

The Skullcandy JIB True 2 are really amazing for sound quality, bass is really good & you can control the volume, two ways on your mobile volume control if you us on mobile or on the earbuds themselves, but I would recommend these to anyone and I even got a pair for my wife and she listens to rock music like disturbed and alter bridge, check them out & you will see what sound quality / bass they give out

Do the earbud controls allow you skip track forward and back, or just skip track forward?

Yes, they skip forward and back. Really pleased with them, excellent value for money. Would recommend

Can earbud buttons skip tracks forward and back, or is it forward skip only?

Yes you can skip forward and backward on these, instructions in the box when you get them
