Great all in one food storage setup!
Nice Mylar storage bag kit including the oxygen absorbers too. 100 one gallon bags and 100 oxygen absorber packets included. Easy to follow instructions provided as well.Oxygen absorbers subdivided into 10 per packet so you don’t have to expose all to air at once.Mylar bags seal nicely, I used a hair flat iron, and the oxygen absorbers do a surprisingly good job of “eating” up the oxygen in the bag. In the provided picture you can see the dimples of the white rice on the bag surface. Doesn’t happen immediately but I checked the bag after 12 hours or so and was surprised at the results. Keep in mind the air around us is only about 21% oxygen so all the air in the sealed bag won’t be consumed but again the results were better than originally expected. The Mylar bags are listed as 1 gallon and I was able to put 15 cups of rice in a bag and easily seal it with a some room to spare.Overall money well spent and if I need more bags in the future I’d definitely get this kit again.Keep on prepping!

great product
The mylar bags work very well. My one beef is the packaging is not very secure at all. Just a small piece of tape on the opening. The first package was open and all was missing except the mylar bags. The second was open but all items were there.

Secure Storage System
Whether to prepare for future shortages, or to take advantage of bulk pricing, food storage is pointless if it permits oxidation. These Fresh Assured One Gallon Mylar Bags for Food Storage with Oxygen Absorbers are second only to vacuum-sealed glass for keeping perishables from, well, perishing. Made from tough 5-mil DuPont Mylar - which, unlike common plastics, is impermeable to oxygen and most other gasses - we can be confident the foods we put in these heat-sealable bags, along with an included oxygen-absorber - will not be exposed to airborne spoilage factors. The bags are also opaque, so foods can't deteriorate due to light exposure (and can't be identified without a label).Fresh Assured One Gallon Mylar Bags for Food Storage with Oxygen Absorbers are not vacuum bags - our practice when my wife and I fill them is to squeeze out as much air as we can before we add the oxygen absorber packet, and then heat seal the open end. We generally seal the bags with our vacuum sealer in "Seal" mode (no vacuum) but they can also be sealed with a non-vacuum bag sealer, an iron, or even with a hair curler according to Fresh Assured. The kit includes bags and oxygen absorbers for 100 gallons, so a lot of food can be set aside. Very thoughtfully, because the oxygen absorbers start working as soon as they're unsealed, those are packed in sets of ten so all 100 don't have to be used at once. The kit also had a very good instruction card to help us get started. The bags have a tear-tab on the presealed end so they will be easy to open when we need to.Remember to label the bags - a permanent marker will hold up better than an adhesive label - and store the sealed bags appropriately for whatever they contain: dry foods generally in a cool, dry place; perhaps the freezer for some other foods. Because these bags are opaque, they're also a good way to save things you might not want someone to find, such as emergency cash, jewelry, or important papers. Just be sure to remember how you label them. We're delighted with our Fresh Assured 1-Gallon Mylar Bags for Food Storage with Oxygen Absorbers and will be ordering more, perhaps some of the 5-gallon size for things like rice, dried beans and the like. We highly recommend both the product and the seller.

A very high-quality set of Mylar bags with oxygen absorbers at a reasonable price …
I’ve purchased Mylar bags a few times, including larger ones like these. I do have a preference for this type as I have more control over them. These also come with 300cc oxygen absorbers, which are perfect for my needs. In order to keep the absorbers fresh, so to speak, don’t open them until you are ready to put one in a bag. For example, once I fill a bag, I’ll put in an absorber. If you’re only going to use one or two, be ready to reseal the oxygen absorbers again. When I fill a bag, I don’t fill it totally, but rather give it plenty of room to make sure it seals. I usually fill a bag approximately ¾ full, add an oxygen absorber, push out as much air as I can and then seal them. It takes a day or so for the oxygen absorber to do its job. Once that’s done, I’ll begin to notice the bags shrinking as it were. If you think about vacuum packed coffee, it will give you a good idea of what happens with these bags. The oxygen absorbers pull the remaining oxygen out of the bag, thus creating that seal. I have had some faulty bags now and then, possibly because I’ve inadvertently punctured them. I use this type of bag for my dry goods like expensive grains. In the past I’ve purchased organic rice and sealed in Mylar bags. I’m primarily using these for medium to longer term storage when I have more food / grains than I can eat in a reasonable amount of time. There are tutorials on how to use these bags and I’d highly recommend taking a look. One thing I really love is there’s a decent Quick Start Guide, which I feel to be very informative and useful.

Quality Mylar Bags and Oxygen Absorbers
These bags feel plenty thick enough to protect your valuable food storage. I seal the top of these bags with a flat iron used for straightening hair, and it keeps the bag sealed better for longer food storage. The oxygen absorbers work they way they should, and there are 5 to each sealed bag. You will need to use them all within a few minutes, or seal the bag that holds them back up. If you do this, the remaining absorbers won't absorb the ambient air before they're ever added to the bag.One more thing about oxygen absorbers... Don't use them with food that has greater than 10% moisture. Doing so could cause the oxygen absorber to interact with the moisture in the food to cause botulism. Also, don't use oxygen absorbers with salt or sugar, as doing so will cause your storage to go rock hard. Both warnings apply to all oxygen absorbers, not just these.
