I purposefully delayed the review of this product so I had time to use it in a meaningful way before providing a review.First, the company was extremely easy to deal with, and reached out early to offer suggestions and to review complementary hardware selections for compatibility with the product.Next, the company reached out and was upset they were unable to pay my incoming duties due to changes to the system, shipping process, whatever it was, they wanted to pay my import fees. They were about 37 dollars or something, but I sent them the invoice and was credited that amount immediately.At no point did I reach out to this company, every action mentioned above was entirely proactive on the part of the seller. Really excellent service experience.Now, the hardware.Extremely well built. Solid, it's heavy, however since it's literally a heat sync, it's quite expected. It does get warm, but I have had no heat related performance issues yet, and I've been through an extremely intensive experimentation and have really exercised this hardware.My original plan was a strait Opnsense firewall system. This hardware is more than capable of handling this job. With various intrusion detection plugins, VPN integrations, etc, a fully functional system will use about 8 of those 16 gigs of ram all by itself. However the CPU is barely doing any work. I was underutilizing this device massively.I decided to run ProxMox VE, and put the Opnsense firewall in as a virtual guest, which ended up being the absolutely best decision. This machine is very modern, and has all the best virtualization extensions in the CPU. I am easily able to run a bunch more servers, while barely exercising the CPU. I attached screenshots to show you under load.File system uses ZFS, so it inflates memory to improve performance, but scales back as other processes need memory. This has not been a limiting factor and I have seen no performance negative implications as a result of this. It usually hovers around 90% memory usage during heavy load.The only negative that I can really come up with is that driver support is hard for the motherboard. I don't even know what it is. To be fair, that's on me, since I could probably send them an email and ask, due to the fact they have excellent customer service. The BIOS is also completely unlocked, in developer mode. You need to be fairly technical in order to navigate this area, however if you are knowledgeable or persistent you can do a lot of extensive customization of the bios.In short, this is a great system.
