Very comfortable and stays cool

Is very cool, but does loose that after a while but is less warm than traditional pillows. So worth it to keep you cooler than normal.

Now I do really like this pillow and pillowcase especially when used in combination, and I would have given this five stars if only it wasn’t let down by one or two (mostly mildly) annoying things. Mainly the fact that over a week or two, the pillow just shrank, and is now approximately half the size it was on day one, and it was really nice and firm at first too, but it just didn’t last long. Luckily it opens up (with a zip) and you can fit another pillow inside to keep it puffed up, or just use it on top of another pillow, if like me you usually have more than one. The other annoyance is the smell, as it’s got a sort of chemical smell, although not entirely awful, but just stronger than you would want in something near your face, but I suspect it will wash off, but I don’t know how strong the rubber gel will be after a few washes so I’m holding off on washing it just for now in case I gets ruined in the wash. Now that’s out the way, let’s get to the positives as I do really appreciate this pillow, and I didn’t even know how just much my previous setup was affecting me or damaging my sensitive skin. I was using satin soft pillowcases before I bought this, which I thought was enough to keep my skin from getting bashed around by rough materials, but I didn’t realise it was trapping in heat, and I was waking up with these red and white patches where my cheeks were resting on the satin and heating up and sweating through the night. I had no idea that I needed cool pillows and pillowcases until I read more about it and thought I’d try these. When you first touch this pillow with the case on, and they really do work best together, but it is also pretty cool with just the pillowcase (which I also use on my other pillow now too, although I just bought another pillow on sale too lol), it is REALLY cold and it feels almost wet or icy or something and it can actually be a shock lol. Some are complaining that it heats up right away, which is sort of true, but it never gets hot or even warm just less cold, but the difference is that as soon as you move around during the night, like a cm away from where you just were, it stays really icy cold all night which wouldn’t happen with a normal pillow. The point is not for it to stay super cold everywhere all night even where you lay on it, that would require a fridge or something lol, but the point is for it to be cool to your skin, breathable, gentle and soft on skin and hair too, and this pillow and pillowcase definitely delivers that. There’s times where I move around at night and get a nice chill all over me as my hands and face rub against the cool surface, and for it to stay like that all night is pretty amazing, it’s hard to explain though, but it really is cool to touch, even on hot nights, just that ice cold touch turns into a slight less icy temperature that’s still cold enough to keep your skin from overheating rather than feeling like it does when you first touch it if that makes sense. What’s been great though is that my skin hasn’t been left with as many red patches when I’m waking up now. I have health conditions that mean I will always have trouble with my skin and need to avoid heat or friction, and to have options that I never even thought were possible before now is amazing, and being able to keep my skin cool and not sweaty or feeling hot at night, is great and helps me sleep too so there has been multiple benefits which I find worth it, even though it was let down a little by the couple of gripes I mentioned. Definitely recommend getting one though especially for people with any sort of skin issue or even if you just don’t like feeling hot at night.
