After installing the light, the remote control does not work. While I was able to toggle through the color modes using my power switch, the process is both annoying and very bad for the manual switch that supplies power. I have asked for a replacement remote, but the company has not responded.I may have to return the light, even though the light itself seems to be of good quality.I did get a response from seller, and now waiting for the remote. Really hope the remote works.Update on the remote control: thanks to the seller for sending me the remotes, and I was able to verify that the remote now works if it is within a few feet from the light housing (under water). I decide to keep the light, as the quality seems to hold up so far, and other similar lights have the same problems. Thanks for the seller's responsiveness. I decided to change the review to 4 stars, hope the maker finds a better solution for the remote control.

I recently replaced my vinyl pool liner and installed this light at the same time, replacing a 120 volt surface mounted light.When installing the light it becomes water tight if the pool water level is below the bottom of the light. It seals very tightly to my vinyl liner.I purchased this not for the energy savings but because it is 12 volt powered. I have always been nervous about a surface mounted 120 volt fixture and this alleviates that small but potential danger of fatal electrocution. I purchased the Intermatic PX100 Pool Light 100-Watt Safety Transformer and was able to use the existing wiring with only slight modifications.Should you misplace the remote, all is not lost! If you just turn the power on the light it will enter a default color changing mode. If you turn the light on then off then on (2 on's) then the light will be a steady red color.3 on's = steady green4 on's = steady blue5 on's = steady green + red6 on's = steady blue + green7 on's = steady red and blue8 on's = steady red + blue + green9 on's = red then green then blue over and over at a fast pace10 on's = red then blue then green over and over at a fast paceThere are a total of 15 ea on's that create different effects. I'll let you figure the remaining 5 out.

Love this light but the chord is too short for my pool. I am returning it for this reason. I am waiting to hear back from the distributor regarding a special order with a longer power chord. We tested the light and the colors are beautiful. I read the reviews and hope I can get the longer chord. Will update at that point. Here is my update. Sorry it took me so long. So I contacted the manufacturer in China. It took a few tries to clear up the communication but it worked. For an additional $20 more they special ordered the same light with a 15 ft cord (that sufficed for us). The big surprise was they sent it DHL and I got it within a week. Light still working and looking great. But make sure you order the right size cord for your pool. Highly recommend this product. Great price great beautiful lighting.

Great pool light! Easy to install and it offers a great number of nice color options. Just be aware that you do need to be close to the light in order for the remote to work well. What's exceptional about this product is the customer service the company offers. My light worked great for about 5 months but then started acting up. I contacted the manufacturer and they bent over backwards to take care of my issue. All companies have occasional issues with their products, but this company really knows how to treat their customers. Five stars from my perspective!
