Q: what is the blend and % of these socks

If you read deep enough under the fluff..... Only 30% Merino Wool, 36% Nylon, 33% Acrylic, and 1% Elastine, which is about the same, or even a little less of a Merino blend than big box store brands. They are made in Portugal. There are much higher Merino Wool content socks for sale here on Amazon, at equivalent or lower price. Meriwool brand, for instance, are 75% Merino, 15% Nylon, and 10% Elastic, 3 pairs for around $20 to $25. If you find the marketing and packaging more important than the contents then these are your socks.

Q: Size 9 mens. Sizes to choose are -8.5 or 9.5+. Do these shrink enough to get the bigger size, or is smaller better?

Get the smaller size. These are Euro sized and the US conversion on the chart is confusing. A size 42EU is size 9 US or 8.5 on some charts. I am a 9 US and a 42EU and the smaller size fits perfectly.

Q: I need socks that will dry overnight as I can only take a few and will be washing them daily. Will these work?

Probably, depending on humidity and wind conditions. Under normal use you will probably not need to wash these daily. I purchased these a year ago and I can get several days of hard wear out of a pair without then feeling or smelling funky if I hang them and let them air out for a few hours. These socks have shown very little wear and teqr after a year of use. Far from a “dumpster fire”.

Q: Are theses sleamless socks ?

My first order from ~2 years ago were. The order I received recently have relatively large knots on one of of the sock ends for each pair - very disappointing as the quality of the socks are superb otherwise.
