Great reel and rod combo
I have several BG reels for inshore fishing and love them. Great quality for a $100 price range reel. I needed something bigger and heavier for BTB fishing from my kayak targeting bull reds and sharks. I already have a Penn Battle II 5000 reel on a Ugly Stick Tiger jigging rod (Medium). The rod isn't stiff enough for my liking so I decided to get this BG combo with a Heavy rod. It is perfect. As an added benefit, the 5000 sized BG reel has a lot higher line capacity than the Battle II of the same size. Couldn't be happier with this purchase and I will probably order another one in a few months.

Broke Instantly
Rod broke in first try. Tried to return. Never sent the label to return and just out my money. Amazon said wait until we hear from the seller and we never did. Now I can’t return and can’t get my money back.
