Aubrey Silken Earth Translucent Base Porcelain Beige - 21 oz

I have been in serious need of a powder capable of full coverage, that doesn't clog my pores, isn't heavy, and is good for my skin all at the same time. This is the product I have always been looking for. Through much deliberation and entry of each ingredient into the cosmetics database, my research lead me to believe that this was the powder of my dreams. I've used this powder for a few weeks now, and I'm glad to say it has lived up to everything I hoped for. The cinnamon smell of the powder itself is a plus, and the silk-powder ingredient allows the powder to not seem "too matte" giving a slightly radiating appearance. (For any ladies worried about this, the powder is definitely not shimmery.) Although the powder has "translucent" in the name, don't be fooled into thinking this means that you can't obtain full coverage. Without a "cakey" appearance, the powder goes on with ease when using a powder brush to apply.The only thing I was hesitant about when purchasing this product was the fact that it's a loose powder. I have an aversion to loose powders for the fact that they can be very messy and too bulky to carry. I admit that I leave this product at home because of these reasons, and continue to carry a pressed powder in my purse for touch ups during the day.For reference, I wear this powder always with concealer underneath and sometimes a light foundation.I am caucasian with yellow under-tones (this powder complements perfectly).I am 21 and have experimented with many brands of make-up :)

I wear makeup only a couple times a week because I prefer a natural look and am also wary of what products do to my skin and overall health. I've had Bare Minerals powder on-hand for several years and have always liked it (despite how overpriced it is), but recently realized that some of its ingredients weren't so wonderful. So, I decided to try this powder. Not only am I pleased with the ingredient list and the price (especially for 21 grams!), but I am very happy with this makeup's look.I've always had reddish cheeks (even below my cheekbones), and while stopping use of all facial products/treatments other than olive oil has helped a ton, I still have a slight reddish, uneven tinge. This makeup successfully lightens the red and evens my complexion--and I know that very few people would ever guess that I have makeup on my face at all. It is astoundingly natural-looking.With this being said, it is a light foundation. You can get good coverage with it, but it sure isn't MAC. I encourage all women to switch to a foundation that allows the beauty of their natural complexion to show through while still evening skin tone and lessening flaws. It's far more beautiful than looking like polyurethane anyway!

I like this product when I first apply it, but it doesn't last well throughout the day and I can't reapply it later. I have oily skin which just makes this disappear over time. I also have a little peach fuzz on my face, so it sticks to the hairs and doesn't let me apply bronzer or blush on top of it.

I was hoping it was like Bare Minerals. It is nice but doesn't give you that silky look that Bare Minerals does. Otherwise I like it.

Appearance is chalky.

I seriously cannot say enough good things about this powder. I have super sensitive skin and this is the only powder I can use without breaking out or getting a rash, even though I am over 50. I have been using Aubrey Organics Silken Earth for over ten years now and it is the only beauty product I would pay full price for. They did change the formula a while back, but they actually made it better. It used to have too much cinnamon in it and the cinnamon would occasionally make small dark streaks if I didn't mix the powder before using it. It doesn't do that anymore, and there are more color choices. This is not thick powder, so if you want more coverage, you would have to use this with a foundation, but I feel like it does a decent job by itself.

The consistency of this powder is very grainy, and there isn't much coverage, even when applied a few times. It does have a pleasant cinnamon scent though.
