Only gave four stars for ease of installation because there were no installation instructions included. Found generic installation instructions for similar item online. Easy to install after viewing those online instructions. Tonneau cover on my truck now raises and lowers as it did when new.

did not have enough carry capacity.When to return and it costs me 30.00 CAD to return via Canada Post. Might as well get stuck with it for 50 % out of my pocket.

I have a F150 (2002) with a ARE fiberglass lid. The other day, I lifted the lid, bent in to pull a bag from the bed, and the lid came down and wacked me on the back of the head. Time to replace the the gas springs. Checked with a ARE dealer and they wanted $50 for the pair so I checked on line and found these for $20.They came in 2 days and I put them on this morning. Make sure you prop the lid up with a 2x4 (it's really heavy) to it's maximum height because you'll NEVER compress these springs by hand.Used a large screwdriver and pried the ends of the old springs off and pushed the new ones on. Took me 15 minutes to get the lid propped up and about 2 minutes to replace the springs. Easy job and the lid now lifts up easily (and stays up). Don't know how long they'll last but they sure work good now!
