Thomas & Friends TrackMaster, Raceway Expansion Pack

We got the starter trackmaster set last year but the dog chewed up one of the pieces and it didn't work without it (couldn't set it up to loop) so just needed a couple extra pieces to get the track working again. This worked perfectly and was much cheaper (and better constructed) than the other track master sets. Came in a Thomas package (nice since was another present) and was enough to finish the loop and add another one. My son loves being able to change the switch so the train can do the long loop or the short one. Considering it's just an expansion pack, was very pleased. Also it does come with two converter pieces if you have the old set (more curved end pieces versus square).

The set is a little weird but contains lots of straight pieces, which are really handy for making bigger layouts.

Purchased Thomas for my 5-year old granddaughter. She loves the trains and putting tracks together different ways and building bridges. She asked for this for Christmas of 2015 and she's never lost interest. I just wish Fisher Price would market Thomas trains and tracks to girls. She calls these boy's toys.

My son saw a video of trains racing on a simile track and was super excited to get this track. The junctions do not change when a train crosses them as I expected. I thought they would cross the tracks, hit the signal and flip the switch so the next train went the other way. They don't. Still fun but not what I expected and not exactly what my son expected. Still fun for the price. Newer style tracks are far better than old style. This is the new style.

Great addition to the Basic Track master set...Little one had a great time switching the tracks..We play this little game , where I tell him which way I want the train to go and he switches the track accordingly

the quiality of those new redesizgned Fisher-Price rails and trains is poor and unreliable compared to the old ones.

This is a small trackset and not really a racetrack. I purchased it mainly for the switch tracks, but as far as usability goes it really doesn't even work as a racetrack. How is a single track a race track? If you have equal trains the most you are gonna get is the trains crashing at the junction since they all go the same speed.Basically this is a track set camouflaged as something to do with racing.
