Great for bringing carpets back
I was a little sceptical the 1st time I used the product, but upon closer inspection, I think I'd not quite screwed something in place properly. It's still not as good as the big bulky rug doctor you can hire, but very good for everyday use in the house. You do have to be patient with it to get an effective clean, it seems to suck the water up better when you pull back too.Maybe once we have fully become accustomed to it, I can alter the review. But in terms of cleaning up quick spills/after mucky kids! You cannot go wrong

Rug Doctor - FlexClean
Top quality product - Very happy with the purchase - Having read all the reviews of this Companies products vs the other leading carpet/flooring cleaning machines I was left with somewhat conflicting views as to which one to buy. According to reviews it would appear that Vax machines were once very good but they now seem to have a quality control problem with the water storage tanks which then (sometimes) leak undiluted detergent onto the floorings staining them, also they have been known on a number of occasions to send out returned/faulty machines and pass them off as new. Bissell's plastics for their handles and shafts are poorer quality and break/snap off, this is the same for some Rug Doctor's products, also the manoeuvrability has been questioned on Rug Doctor machines.I purchased the RD FlexClean 1093392. At approx. £300 it is slightly more expensive than its competitors but having checked the products that hire companies use (RD & Truvox Products) I thought they would naturally choose the better machines. In my opinion they are right, I am extremely happy with the RD FlexClean, read the instructions thoroughly and you can't go wrong. Granted, the machine is quiet large and fairly heavy however it does have 4 wheels and a multi-position handle that makes it easier to move. I found that I needed to refill the machine once with water/detergent on my larger rooms (3.7L Capacity). For me the drying times were quite quick, I would wash the rugs/carpets early morning (8am ish) and by 2-3pm they were dry again.Top Pro: - Cleans carpets very well - Even some really old carpets came up very nicelyTop Con (Only Con): - Manoeuvrability, okay for me to use (middle aged male) but not a product for my mum (OAP)

Good clean but difficult to steer
I am quite impressed by the cleaning and if you go over the wet areas a couple of times slowly, before moving to the next area, without using the spray, it sucks up a lot of the water so even after a really deep clean it dries within a day (with the windows open). What I'm not so keen on is that the base is the heaviest part (obviously needs to be) and the handle moves very freely in all directions so I found it difficult to steer the machine onto the next area to be cleaned. Once you get the knack it works well though. Certainly a lot of dirt in the waste water. It only came with enough cleaning fluid for one tank full (deep clean) so make sure you stock up before tackling a large room. I had some left over rug doctor fluid from a rental machine and it worked well in this machine even though the included stuff was different.

Very effective cleaning
I only got it today so cannot comment on reliability, and this is a cleaner to replace one from another manufacturer that started to smoke after only a few uses. But in comparison the rug doctor feels better engineered, using stiffer and stronger materials making it feel more robust. The results are quite a contrast as well with a significant improvement to the rug that I tested it on. The rug had got so dirty from 2 dogs that I contemplated just replacing it but really don’t feel I need to now. For pet owners it might be useful to know that it seems to cope with fur much better than others, effectively ‘spitting’ it out rather than trapping it in a roller/ brush ( yes I did dry vacuum before but pet fur can embed itself).

Good product and easy to fill and empty tanks etc.
Overall, I am happy with this product. I gave it 4 stars as I found it awkward to change the angle of direction if it wasn’t going straight, but I would point out that I have reduced strength in my wrists. It’s no use in tight corners or awkward spaces, so I ordered the upholstery attachment and that did the job.
