Delivery was prompt well packaged.Absolutely love the radio 📻itself tone is best I think I've had in a radio, lots of stuff I don't understand, like internet radio couldn't do that as I think you've got to have a computer and be on line and I don't have a computer but what I wanted was DAB radio and I've got on the station I wanted really couldn't be happier so very happy with purchase recommend it it's British made a good price compact good looking equipment. Brilliant, well priced product!
mrkevinhiggs 22 May 2022, 18:25 BST I ordered the Homerton 2 as an upgrade to standard DAB radio. I was looking for something to fit in with my office, not take up too much room but able to listen to DAB, Spotify or other music from my Bluetooth devices, and CDs if I fancied. The Homerton 2 does all of this along with being able to listen to hundreds of other internet radio stations. With a built in speaker too I didn't even need to wire in my Majority D40 speakers unless I really wanted to. The sound from the Homerton 2 is loud enough to fill my office as much as i need it to, and with built in equaliser it is so easy to adjust the sound depending on what I'm listening to. I probably will plug the D40 speakers in as their sound profile is fab, and as the Homerton 2 has a headphone jack this is a simple addition to an already brilliant product. For the price I am blown away, it also looks and feels really well made. The other really good thing is that Majority are looking to become more climate friendly so the packaging is pretty much all recyclable and the weight of the product is kept for shipping by not including things you don't need. There is no instruction manual in the box which might upset some people but the Homerton 2 is so easy to set up I didn't even need to review the online instructions in order to get the device connected and music playing. I haven't tried the CD player yet but there are the usual controls for pause, play, back, forward on the included remote, so I'm sure this will also work a dream. I honestly don't know how Majority do it for such a low price, and such a brilliant product. Well done! 👍

Expensive for a bedside alarm clock - still worth it!
So I was originally just looking for a bedside alarm clock, having decided to keep and charge my phone away from the bedside during the nights to promote healthier sleep and reduce screen time habits in bed. However, I'm also about to move back to the world of renting in shared houses and for the most part having a single room for my private living space, I need to live compactly. An alarm clock then, that has a speaker through which I could also Bluetooth some music files from my phone (or perhaps a USB), seemed the way to go. While no audiophile, I wanted the speaker to at least sound relatively decent if it's going to be my main method of listening to music from now on, so I started looking beyond the cheaper ones. Wouldn't it be nice though, if I found one with a decent speaker, if it could also play my CDs too? Thus, I ended up searching more for a CD player/Bluetooth speaker that also had an alarm clock function and would theoretically sit in a bedside table. After searching around for a while, I came across the Homerton 2, which visually caught my eye with it's appealing woodwork cabinet and a curious retro/modern design. I hadn't heard of the brand Majority before, but did a little research and was convinced enough that the audio was likely to be decent, with a few reviews of the unit that I came across confirming this. The Homerton 2 is way over budget for a bedside alarm clock, so what is it I'm getting? Well, essentially an awful lot of different connectivity options, a CD player and a decent speaker in compact form. I don't think I'm probably the target audience for this audio unit, since there is a heavy focus on radio, DAB, podcasts, Spotify none of which I use! I do have though a CD player, Bluetooth connectivity and can play music from a USB stick (port in the rear if the unit). How does it all fare? Well, I've just received the Homerton 2 and have gone through the set-up process, which was relatively straightforward and tested out all if the modes and I'm genuinely impressed. Given that I wanted a good speaker to listen to music with, one of my main concerns was that I wasn't going to like this only having a single speaker and lack of stereo. Reviews suggested it sounded good and having now had a chance to listen to it myself I'm initially impressed by its clarity, volume and overall mix. I've tested all if the functions except for my USB music stick (in the car and it all works flawlessly and is easy to navigate. The remote is clean, effective and responsive too. I initially had a little trouble working out which way the power supply us plugged into the rear, as a correct way up wasn't obvious. There are 3 pins in the connector that form a triangle, but that could be rotated around several ways to fit and I was worried about applying too much force if I had it misaligned. Essentially, the flat end of the connector wants to face upwards, as was my initial instinct. The unit looks amazing and feels both sturdy and well built. Honestly, while compact for what it is and offers, it's a bit bulky for use as a bedside alarm clock due to it's height and depth, thought the width is ideal. It will fit on a bedside unit, but it is a bit much and would probably be better naturally suited in another part of the room. For a small decent sounding music system with lots of connectivity options, the Homerton 2 really is a winner. It looks smart, sounds great and has a wealth of listening input options. While not a radio user or podcast listener, I am actually now intrigued to start exploring this somewhat. The fact that the internet radio feature has access to something like 25,000 stations worldwide, which you can search through by country or genre (fun!), it feels you could go down some deep rabbit holes seeing what's out there, if you felt so inclined. For many, while I don't think the Homerton 2 will suffice as a main music system in a household, it would make an excellent secondary audio addition to just about any other individual room you wanted, due to it's small footprint, great sound and attractive appearance. Or if like me, you have limited space but want combine a few functions into a single space-saving and quality unit, this is also well worth your consideration. Oh, and as for the alarm clock function? Well, you can set up to 2 alarms which will play from any of the chosen music inputs available in the unit (radio, USB, CD etc.) and at your selected volume level. When you power down the unit, the display screen shows a clock display, which is a digital representation of an analogue clock (see image). I'd have preferred to have the option to make this a regular digital format with large numbers, but I should still be able to read this clearly enough in the night/early morning to know when I am! As an option for wanting a bedside alarm clock, it's still ridiculous though.

Great sound from a small. versatile unit.
Great unit to replace an ageing Roberts system. Great to have Internet radio and an Aux in (vital) Great sound and easily set to own preference with a (basic) EQ set up. Amazingly good sound from such a small unit. Very easy to set up and link to my router. Wonderfully compact on my kitchen surface, (leaving plenty of room room for the microwave, toaster, Echo etc etc)

Amazing Quality and Sound. Worth Every Penny!
I have no hesitation in saying that buying the Homerton 2 Music System has been a life changing experience for me! I was raised in a house where a radio always played, but over recent years, I must confess to rarely listening to a radio. That has now changed. I was amazed at the number and variety of radio stations the DAB+ feature identified. I have now got some of my favourites on preset. Having used Spotify on my iPad and mobile, I am loving being able to take advantage of the choice of music that I can now listen to via the Homerton Spotify mode and, last but not least, I am enjoying playing CDs that have simply sat on a shelf for the past two years. The sound quality is amazing and it is so stylish in appearance. Without doubt, the Homerton 2 Music System is worth every penny I paid!

Packs a punch for the right price.
I’ve been looking for a compact CD player that’ll fit with my decor so I can play my old CD’s that just aren’t on streaming services. I came across the Majority Homerton 2 and given its array of functionality, looks, and price, I thought I’d give it a spin. It arrived well packed and when I took it out of the box I was surprised by its weight and how sturdy it felt. Once fired up it launched into the set up wizard which is pretty simple to do and took less than 5 minutes. With some 80’s tunes on the CD player I thought I’d better read the instructions. The instructions are online and accessed with the QR code on the box which is a great sustainable touch. They are detailed and easy to follow, but to be honest the Homerton 2 is really intuitive so most people probably won’t need them. All of the functions can be accessed on the remote (which has a lovely ‘click’ to it) or on the front of the unit, but it also has an app, which is probably how I’ll use it. The app is really good, and again the set up was so easy - I think the only thing you can’t do on the app is eject a CD! The Homerton 2 sounds great for its size and although I’ll be integrating it into my current audio eco-system via the jack on the back, it’s good to know it can belt out a tune. And the connectivity available is better than some systems that are far far more expensive - you’ve USB, jacks in and out, Bluetooth (which has great range) and Spotify connect. And on top of that you get podcast player and the internet radio, neither of which I knew I needed but now absolutely love. Both are simple to use, even more so on the app and there is so much to explore. So all in all I’d thoroughly recommend the Homerton 2 to anyone looking for a dab / internet radio / CD player that’s affordable, flexible and has some oomph.
