This hard candy is for certain what you call "different". I personally like these, but others not so much when I shared them with friends. I would say give it a try you might like it. they also got a nice chewy center that doesn't hurt you teeth. The flavor starts of a little salty but if you give it a bit it has a nice sweet fruity flavor that feels worth waiting for. They also last for a while. Give it a try.

Interesting candy! Got it to surprise people at the office Christmas party. The taste is unexpected at first because it’s salty, then it turns sweet. A fun experience.

bought these several years in a row from different vendors, coating is odd on some but the plum flavour is very pleasant. coating i think is meant to be super sour. my kids love Japanese candies so. tend to purchase them early so they can have them as a treat at Christmas as the dates are very long
