Full of good surprises
I am partial to the masticating (rather than spinning centrifugal) juicers for reasons I won't go into here, so I went nuts shopping trying to fit my budget. I looked over this model quite a few times thinking it wouldn't be suitable for more than wheatgrass, or assuming it would be a lot of extra work.Turns out that it is so easy to use I can't hardly believe more reviewers don't talk about it. Granted I chop the veggies, but to give you a frame of reference it's less effort to turn the handle than to tamp the veggies down the chute, and you have to do that even with an electric (not that either is hard). I could liken the manual/electric usage to driving manual/automatic transmission. I actually prefer this manual over the electric masticating I have used most days. Staying actively engaged makes it go by faster or something. It is also extremely efficient. I have also used an Omega 8005 and feel like I not only saved money up front, but am spending less on veggies. As a daily juicer, that adds up. It's also lower pulp in the juice and less froth, the first a matter of taste the second a matter of shelf life. If you like the pulp, you can obviously add it back in.As others have mentioned the pulp wants to drop into the juice container. There are about a hundred ways to easily work around this. My personal favorite is to put something under the container to raise it up a bit, allowing it to slide "out of range." Complaining about that seems to me about as petty as complaining you need an outlet for your toaster. It's really no big deal.I have been extremely pleased with what it is able to juice. I am growing wheatgrass, but so far have fed it mainly apples, celery, and carrots.I suspect this is the Green Star or Solo Star or whatever it's called these days with a crank instead of a motor. That is just a guess, based somewhat on the available "conversion kit" for electric model owners. Either way it is a terrific juicer and I'm glad I didn't fork over triple the price for an electric motor.Update 11 1/2 months after buying:I finally had something go wrong with this juicer. I was making peanut butter with the plug in the cap and it broke. I jumped on the Tribest web site, found a toll-free number, and in less than a minute I had someone from the company on the phone who replaced the part free of charge. They honored the 1 year warranty with no hassles even though I was pushing the thing pretty hard (I think the rep was surprised I had successfully made as much PB as I had with the plug in). BTW - the peanut butter this makes is amazing. It's actually capable of making creamy peanut butter, just leave the plug out of the front cap. ;)

Excellent!
Bought an electric centrifugal juicer a few years back. It worked well with carrots, oranges, apples, etc. but we were never able to extract a lot of juice from leafy vegetables and wheat grass. This is where the Z-star kicks butt. It does an excellent job on anything that is "leafy" or "grassy"... extracts very well... pulp is very dry. We are very impressed with it. Would recommend to a friend. Also, for all you Bob Villa types, it seems to me that one could attach a hand drill to where the handle normally attaches to the body and convert this into a "power juicer"... will try it out and leave some feedback on that soon.Pros: Does not take much storage space. Easy to use (turn the handle). Easy to disassemble and clean. Looks and feels solid. Attaches easily to a counter or kitchen table. Excellent quality (made in Korea... not China). More expensive than other manual juicers but worth the money.Cons: Not any better at juicing berries (raspberries, blueberries, etc.) than our old centrifugal juicer. Oh well... nothing's perfect.P.S.: I worry about washing the plastic parts in a dishwasher (may develop cracks due to heat)... we hand wash, very easy.

Worked well, but did not last long
Although fairly easy to use and clean, the basket around the auger split in less than five months of once a week usage. There is also visible cracking on the lip of the body where the cap screws on (where the ejected material comes out) and it would probably break there as well. I did research for replacement parts and was only able to find the strainer basket which was twenty dollars plus shipping. That is twenty five percent of the purchase price. I opted to throw it away and bought an Omega 8007 to replace it. Three times the cost, but it is the most popular line available and one of the best for under a thousand dollars. So far it is working very well. I am scaling up my wheatgrass production and plan to get to a daily use routine.

I give it 2 stars because i used it once and the juice it produced was amazing. Tasted better and got more juice out of it then with my centrifugal juicer. Easy to assemble and clean. Although I was only able to use it once. The reason I give it 2 stars and not 0 is because it worked really well, ONCE. I made one 16 oz glass of juice. Mostly greens with a couple carrots and celery. After ONE use, and only ONE use, the plastic around the screen was already cracked, and not just a little crack like you get when you put acrylic plastic in the dishwasher, this was cracked enough where the pieces were flexible and detached. I've never been so dissapointed in a product I purchased on AMAZON. I bought this juicer because it was more expensive and seemed like better quality than the LEXAN juicer for 50 dollars. I was always a firm believer in you get what you pay for. Well it's just not the case with this juicer. I'll be calling amazon to return this juicer. I would not recommend this juicer. HOWEVER i will say the juice produced from this juicer tasted better than any other juicer i've used. So i will say that i will be looking into different auger style juicers.

Misdescribed/confusion over which model is offered for sale
The product described ie the 710 is not what I received, I bought from Amazon and received the 510 (as pictured) I have used the 510 for a number of years and it is a good manual juicer and can handle a variety of produce tho it does best on greens and needs to be handled sensitively with regard to both hard veg (eg carrots/beets) and pulpy soft produce (Eg cucumber)Did want to upgrade to the 710 which I understand to be based on updated parts from the Tribest Solostar 3. Possible that other sellers ie not Amazon ARE selling the 710 of course!

This juicer is fantastic. I did my first juice cleanse using this one and am pretty sure I was able to get more nutrients out of the veggies that I was juicing because of it's simple components. It's easy to use and easy to assemble.
