Cracked on first use
I bought these for my daughters in Civil Air Patrol. I'M SO PROUD OF THEM. Yes, Momma wore combat boots too. The finish on these cracked upon first use. Oldest was breaking them in at her job when the finish across the vamp started cracking. Now note here that oldest is ALSO in ROTC at high school. So if there's a kid who already knows how to shine boots, this is the kid. These boots were NOT GONNA CUT IT on polishing this finish back to passing inspection level. THREE CHEERS FOR ALL WHO WEAR COMBAT BOOTS! Don't wear these.

Boots run large!
I purchased a size 10 seeing that lots of people said they run large. I wear an 11 all day every day. Redwing work boots, any name brand shoe etc. 10's were to big. I ended up with a 9 and was still able to put in a nice gel insole. They are especially large in the toe box area. I took these on a trip to Canada and spent 7 days in a canoe and camping. The drain holes work great, they are light weight and dry out well. They never dried out all the way during the trip but in all fairness they didn't have much time. Maybe 8 hours overnight outside in the 50's. Getting to and from camp required being in the water and or nasty knee to waist deep mud. The grip of the sole was great on the rocks and multiple types of ground cover. Slippery on tree roots that were wet but otherwise i was impressed. Caring an 86 lb. canoe on your shoulders for half a mile soaking wet good footing in important. Defiantly a good purchase! Just go 2 sizes below what you normally use. The Insole i just used for comfort, the bottom of the boots is quite hard.

Vulcanized is much better, but more expensive
This is a Chinese copy of the USGI jungle boot. I have had a pair of the black Altama USGI boots for over 20 years, and the USGI jungle boots are tough as nails. These are just tan instead of black or green and black. These are not “rough out.” The finish is smooth. I do believe the upper is real, albeit inexpensive, leather. The stitching appears to be acceptable quality. Each boot has two drainage ports that are probably aluminum or plastic instead of brass.I am 99.999% certain the sole is glued on instead of the vulcanized sole the USGI boots have. Vulcanized is much better, but more expensive. The sole itself is softer than the USGI issue jungle boot. That could be a feature or a bug, depending upon the terrain you’re walking. The harder USGI soles slip a lot on smooth wet rocks. You will absolutely need a set of aftermarket insoles. The factory insole is hard as a rock. They feel a little wide. If you have narrow feet, you might be disappointed. They also feel like they run a little large. All in all, these seem to be a basic, serviceable pair of boots. You will never mistake them for USGI quality. And I doubt I will get 20 years of service out of them. But the real deal Altama USGI jungle boots, when you can find them these days, cost about three times as much.

Glue coming off?
I believe it’s the same general design as Vietnam era jungle boots, but I don’t think it’s made the same way. I’ve been breaking them in by soaking them in water and walking in them about 30 minutes a day for the past 2 weeks. They’re getting pretty comfortable. But I’m noticing a sticky white ooze coming from the sole (no liner). I’ve put insoles for arch support. When I pull them out, they’ve got a gluey mess on the underside. I hope this doesn’t mean that the shoe is slowly getting unglued and coming apart. I got these for the treads since I’m planning to do some jungle hiking in semi-rainy season. Will update.

Started coming apart on the first day
As stated in the other reviews, these boots outgas (stink) quite a bit at first, but since I was planning on wearing them out-doors, I didn't mind too much. The big problem is that the first time I laced them up, several of the eyelets started to pull free. The second time, one of them actually popped free of the leather, and without the metal eyelets, the laces will cut free very quickly. I was able to re-insert the eyelet, and get it peened tight, but now after only a few days, most of them are loose. I'll replace them with good quality eyelets as needed from here on out, but this low quality is very disappointing. On the good side, the fit was exactly as expected.

Just like Military Jungle boots.
We love our boots. Ordered a pair for my wife and I, we are both Vets and loved our Jungle Boots while serving. The smell that other posts complain about is a normal CIF/rubber issue smell, it goes away while wearing. The canvas that some complain about being too thin is just like the old military issue JB's. Honestly, we cannot see any difference between these and the ones we were issued. My wife's came perfect. She loves em. Already wore them out running today, washed em off and stripped em so she can get a good shine on em. I tease her cause they are small enough to hang from the cars rearview mirror.Mine...well they were packed in the box a bit tight and one heel crushed the other toe. They are still functional, but the dent will not come out. They are good enough for the field, but I kinda wanted them for wearing to work so I was kind of disappointed. Despite that, we love em and will probably be ordering more for the kids.

YES.. My boys wanted these ugly boots...
I think they are ugly! However, my boys don't. Both my husband and my son ordered these boots. I can't believe it, but yes, they did it... and despite my personal distaste for the style of the boots, I have to admit, they are decent. They have the look of combat boots, but they are so lightweight, it's like picking up a pair of high end running shoes. The material that they are made of is breathable. They will not get water logged or allow for sweat. They are expandable.. they will stretch to fit my boy's HUGE feet comfortably. The sole is super thick with tread that belongs on an off road tire. They are a good boot! I eat my words! What I like about them the most is that when they are actually on the feet, they look good... Much better than I originally thought they would be... Sooo... Go ahead moms. It's better than you think.

Low quality boots
Very low quality. Smells really bad like cheap rubber. Both times I ordered the boots came scuffed up. Their sizing does not match up with most standard boot sizing. The first time I ordered 9w thinking that it would be the same as all my other boots. But they have a sizing chart, so match up your foot dimensions with that and not the listed sizes. A 9w for me normally is a 5w for these boots. I just don't recommend these boots. Go for 5.11 speed 3.0 boots if you're looking for this style of jungle boots.

exactly what I wanted
I ordered this product in a US size equivalent to my own and it fit perfectly; these boots are true fitting, light yet tough, look great with camo gear and comfortable for all day wear. Great product guys, thanks. Delivery was quick even during the pandemic.

Great for the price!
These boots offer great grip and ok permeability but the absence of sole kills comfort. I went to the dollar store and bought a pair of soles. Now these do an excellent job for hicking, bushcrafting and other outdoor hobbies.
