I tried a friends set at water aerobics and loved them. She is a physical therapist and recommended them.I like that you can hold them in two angles. One for more resistance and one for less.When my wrist get tired I hold them with the narrow side against the water using less resistance.They are very light weight but give the perfect water resistance for a good workout.I definitely recommend.

If you have arthritis or difficulty gripping the traditional round dumbbells, you will probably appreciate these. Your fingers and thumb slide through the slots, sort of the way you hold a sandwich. They are very buoyant. They may not provide as much resistance as the round-ended dumbbells, but they do a pretty good job. And you can turn them this way or that to provide the maximum resistance. I’m really pleased with mine. I recommend them to others.

Light weight, easy to use in the pool

I was disappointed when I got them and realized they were just foam but I have fallen in love with them. I keep them under water and keep moving them, I feel it the next day. I think they're a great addition to your work out.

I take a water aerobics class & needed some arm weights. I had been using a cut up pool noodle that the instructor supplied & sometimes there weren’t enough for everyone in the class that needed them. These work much better!! They were delivered very fast.

With the current world wide "Summer Staycation" situation, we purchased a decent sized back yard pool (almost 4 ft deep). In the past, I had really enjoyed water aerobics at our local city pool, but could not handle the chlorine any longer. With this new pool, I thought I'd get some Workout "Toys" equipment and was looking at similar dumbells to what my city pool supplied. I couldn't tell what was what, so was just serfing options. This popped up as a suggestion and I really liked the fact that it was more ergonomic.I have multiple issues with my shoulders that have created a frozen shoulder situation. With these, I'm able to not only perform stretches that I'm unable to accomplish on dry land, I can do more controlled exercises without engaging my neck muscles (which add to the problems).While everyone else is jumping and splashing, I'm doing curls under the water :) Plus they make a great splasher when all out war with the teenagers begins.

I tried them and asked my participants to try and here are ourpros: light outside of the water, resistance similar to the small barbells, maybe even a bit more.Cons: grip is large, fingers collide when bringing them together. Not a good wide surface area to push and pull, hand grip is too small for large women/ and men’s hands, didn’t even fit into the grip, or got stuck.Observation: I thought maybe for my more arthritic participate would like the larger grip, but they did not.

These are great. A little less bulky to carry to the pool than the conventional kind, and also just nicer looking. But they get the job done! My arms got good and sore.

Aquafitness Dumbbells look great when unpacked just now — apart from one joint which has not been sealed or welded together adequately (as in photos). I am hoping this will not split apart further once they are actually in use....
