Very useful for my clarinet journey.

This is a great book, it's just what I needed as a first time learner of tbe clarinet and I wanted a book that would show me the basics but also give some simple music to learn. Would definitely recommend this book.

Book seems fine, has some great information and explains the basics of the clarinet along with maintaining the instrument. The only issue I've come accross is the audio files mentioned that you can download from the website, the issue is when unzipping the files some of them have illegal characters in the filename so the file is unable to be unzipped. The : character may be valid in a filename on a Mac but on Windows it's not. Edit: Increased rating from 3 to 4 stars. Asked on one of the Discords I'm on and someone had a Mac that was able to fix the issue with the filename.

Great value and quick delivery

I decided to take up the clarinet without ever having even held one before. This book is so easy to follow that im already playing proper notes after 2 days. Loving it

Ce livre se présente comme une méthode d'apprentissage de la clarinette, mais c'est aussi un cours de formation musicale (vraisemblablement pour adulte). L'hypothèse principale est donc que le lecteur n'a aucune expérience formelle de la musique. La contrepartie me semble être que le lecteur a vraiment envie d'acquérir une telle expérience car sinon il aura le sentiment d'un tsunami de concepts. Une hypothèse complémentaire est qu'il en a vraiment le temps. Concernant la clarinette, l'approche est très progressive, chaque « jour » apportant son lot de quelques notes, quelques doigtés, quelques notations, quelques concepts. Je ne suis qu'amateur, mais je trouve le tout vraiment très bien fait. Il reste à discuter la notion de « jour ». Ce sont des jours bibliques, comme les 6 jours de la création du monde. Un équivalent raisonnable me semble être la semaine pour avoir le temps de murir les choses, revenir sur un exercice d'un jour précédent pour tenter de le mieux réaliser, etc. À ce propos, il me semble important de venir de temps en temps vers quelqu'un qui s'y connaît pour justement apprécier à quel point on réalise bien les exercices. Le cumul de tous les exercices constitue un ensemble très complet avec des gammes, d'abord par tronçon, puis un octave, puis deux, des arpèges, des jeux sur les registres, etc., et quelques mélodies. Au total, je pense que cette méthode peut servir pendant les 14 premières semaines, en suivant la progression proposée, et ensuite comme mine d'exercices d'échauffement et de maintien en forme. Le passage à la pratique gagne à être accompagné du regard d'un expert, surtout pour les points clés, comme l'embouchure et la respiration dès le début.

Un ottimo supporto per chi si vuole togliere uno sfizio. Il percorso giornaliero è relativo, si possono ripetere gli esercizi di un giorno per tutto il tempo che si ritiene necessario. Esposto bene, esercizi chiari e progressivi. Comunque per uno studio più approfondito va sempre cercato il maestro, privato o presso una scuola.

I've always loved the clarinet, but it was only very recently that I purchased the instrument and began playing around with it. It wasn't very long after that I decided that I needed a instruction book to start my learning path off right. That's when I discovered Amy Austria's book for beginner clarinetists. I started using her book and found that the way the learning concepts were presented made the whole process enjoyable and manageable. The audio tracks are very very clear and easy to follow. All said this book has played a key role in helping me understand, and love my clarinet. Thank you for creating this amazing learning guide!

book was in excellent condition and good beginners guide to learn the clarinet and/or refresh your memory playing an old instrument. The book was helpful to remember the keys and play different songs.
