Honestly, I do not have anything to compare this to. BUT! I can say it works really well. It does exactly what it says. Except it’s not quiet. The first few times you can barely hear it and then it gets louder and louder. It would be ridiculous to compare it to the noise of a swamp cooler, but since I have both, it’s ALMOST as overwhelming. I do have a small house which means I’m “close” to it basically anywhere I sit. If you have a larger home, maybe the sound will drift into the background nicely. Who knows.Also, the power button seems to be more of a suggestion? I try to turn it off constantly (when I can’t take the noise anymore) and it just doesn’t shut up. When I finally do get it to turn off, the fan continues running. After about 5 minutes, I get frustrated and just unplug it. (Of course this could be specific to mine)I’m giving it a 5 star because this thing pulls water out of your house at quite a high rate. I’m constantly emptying the basin. It’s insane! And I enjoy the very soft “full” chime. The design is beautiful, the castors are super nice and it does it’s job without complications. Set it and forget it.I do recommend this! The rate it pulls water out is worth every penny. I do recommend this particular one for larger homes and I wouldn’t suggest it being in a bedroom (noise) but hey! If you’re humidity is too high, this is your answer.

This has been a great dehumidifier. We've been using one for a couple years as a replacement for another brand that crapped out on us, and this dehumidifier has just done it's thing for years. There a nearly continuous stream of water the comes out while it's running, and it's never given us a bit of trouble.It works so well that I bought two more to put under the house and they keep it nice and dry down there.Only problem is, I need another one and Amazon isn't carrying them anymore. Seavon, please hook us up!! Need some morenof your goods! :)

Very effective, but loud buzzing interferes with conversations, telephone calls, and tv when in same room.UPDATE- We have received a direct SEAVON response to our concerns about the noise from this machine. We are pleased to work with a company that is so consumer aware! Since we have friends who use this same machine very successfully, we are happy to exchange our machine for a new one as it seems this problem may be unique to our particular unit. We look forward to posting the results from the replacement!!! If the new machine is as quiet as our friends' machine, we will be upgrading to 5 stars. Again, we're so impressed with the company's initiating a solution!!!ANOTHER UPDATE - The replacement arrived as promised by SEAVON. Amazing customer service! So far, it is quiet, efficient, and stylish. It seems the problem we had was unique to that one machine.

It works like it should but I don't think it is for a 2000 square feet area like it says. I have it between my living room & kitchen & I dump it 2-3 times per day. Easy to move around since it has wheels. Very quiet & able to set on desired humidity setting. I would say works best for one large room or maybe 2 small rooms but it is definitely pulling moisture from the air!

This dehumidifier works great! We had to power wash our new basement and this dehumidifier dried it out very fast. I especially liked that it has a drain hose we were able to put in the drain hole so we didn’t have to continually dump it out. It’s lightweight, easy to use, moves around easy, is quiet, and seems energy efficient. Very happy with my purchase!

This dehumidifier works wonderfully and looks great! It takes care of our ~1,200 sq ft place with no issues. The automatic shut-off and capacity are wonderful. It's easy to empty and clean.

05/05/23: 3 starsIve been running it nonstop since I got it. Its set for 40%... but, hasnt been able to get below 64%. There is a circle light on the front and it will change red to green and back. Weird how it can be 66% & green... while also being 66% & red at other times.Im using it in the basement which is less then what this unit is suppose to be rated for.When I first started using it there would be a little water that came out of the hose every few mins... now it runs for hours and Ive seen nothing. Ive sprayed a water hose in the basement to clean dog pen and dog. Humidity goes to 80%... but, I still dont see water coming out of it anymore. Dont really know if its working... Ive been looking at other dehumitifiers. Id like to get the humidity to 50% or less.Thought about returning it... if I havent past its return date yet. Might just be to late...05/07/23: dropped to one star.This unit has stopped taking the moisture out of the air. It is stuck at 83% for a full day now, and just went up to 84 as I was taking its picture. I tried checking the hunidity set level and the button didnt work properly. I kept getting 83 then 17 back and forth. 17 was never a set point. I turned it off, pulled the plug, waited 10 seconds for power to disapate, then replug in, and turn power on. Thats the standard practice for a maintenance mechanic in the industrual world of repair when you cant find anything wrong. Its a systems reset. Finally got to see the humidity setting... it was at 50%. No luck here... next morning it was the same 83%. When checking the humidity set level it just says 17, and now 85.What a waste of money. The return window is up and now I am stuck with a unit that does not work. Guess Ill have to buy another one... but, it wont be this one! Ill go more industrial.

Compact, sleek and easy to operate. However, will only absorb for small room after 3 day usage. This does not effectively address our objective to lower the humidity in our 1,100 sq. Ft. Condo whereas it pretends to solve for 1,500 sq ft. Somewhat disappointing.

Quite and small but definitely not for 2000 sq/fy. It’s been running for 8 days and humidity dropped only by 2 from 65 to 63.
