ThuleHelium Bike Platform XT

Bought this after installing a hitch on our SUV. After using a removable bike rack that straps on the back of the vehicle for years, the Thule rack is so much easier to both install on the car and to load our bikes onto. It takes me about 2 mins to install on the hitch, and then maybe a minute (or less) to load each bike.Bought and returned a different - and much cheaper - hitch bike rack at first. This one, while significantly more $ than the first one I bought, is so much easier to use. Worth every penny!I keep the key to the bike rack on my key ring to first secure the bike rack to the hitch, as well as to use either of the 2 built-in locks to secure one or both of the bikes to the bike rack itself. The built-in locks won't stop a true thief who may have cable cutting tool and determined to steal your bike, but it's a great deterrent when traveling and stopping at different places.My wife loves it too, as it's so easy to place the bike on the platform and secure it. She was never able to use the old bike rack herself, as she wasn't able to lift the bike to hang it and secure it. Also, because her bike is more of the traditional women's bike, we always would need to install a separate cross bar that connects from the handle bars to the seat to be able to hang it on the old bike rack, and I would use additional straps to secure both of our bikes. With the Thule bike rack, we now don't need any of this. Just stick the bikes on and go!Only minor complaint is that it is a bit heavy. Not really an issue for me, but my wife is not really able to attach or remove the bike rack from the hitch.

This is my first hitch bike rack and so I was a bit nervous using it the first time to transport my gravel bike 500 miles. I followed the instructions to tighten the hitch lock/anti-rattle mechanism after 200 miles and I'm happy to say that my bike arrived at my destination safe and sound. The rack seems to be of great quality and that it is designed to last, but time will tell. The 2 things I like the most are that it requires no tools to attach to your hitch and that it has built-in locking cables. As others have mentioned, the cable locks are a deterrent device only while making quick pit stops. Assembly was a bit of a pain, but that may have been my own fault for waiting until the night before my road trip to assemble. My return trip of 500 miles was stress-free. I'm happy with this purchase (I got it on sale) and with the product.

I like that it’s lightweight but it’s the reason not for heavy Ebike and bikes with rear carrier or with fenders. Easy to assemble and install on the hitch-tool free. Used it once and seemed pretty stable.
