Healthy and delicious cooking oil
I have been using coconut oil for cooking for years and I love the health benefits and unique flavor of it. When I learned of this new blend of coconut oil and avocado oil from Cocavo, I knew I had to give it a try. I'm glad I did and it exceeds my expectations. This is a raw blend of cold pressed, organic coconut oil and avocado oil infused with cilantro oil, lime oil and ginger oil for enhanced flavors. It smells amazing and tastes great. It is excellent as a cooking oil as it has less saturated fat than regular coconut oil (about 10% less). I used it on a spicy Thai dish and it turned out to be more flavorful than I expected. The Cocavo oil is a green solid at room temperature. It comes in a plastic tub with a snap-shut lid, which is not very sturdy but does the job. The oil is produced and packed in New Zealand, and has a best before date of February 2020 (recommended to use within 3 months of opening though). I usually keep my coconut oil in refrigerator for extended freshness and I expect this would do the same. Overall, this is a healthy and delicious cooking oil. I love it.

Healthy Fats in Convenient Tub. Mild Lingering Spice Sensation
This Cocavo w Chili and Lime is a good sized tub of two of my favorite oils added together, and spiced with chili and lime oils. I can definitely taste a mild chili flavor and it has a zing as a lingering after-feel, but this is not too spicy, and can be used w most foods, even if you are not a hot spice person. I can't really taste any distinctive lime flavor or tartness, however. The chili flavor is almost like an earty, cumin-esque sensation, which is not easily identifyable, but reminds me just a tad of Indian (Asian) foods. What I really like about this oil is that the avocado must have been combined as a fresher pulp, just based on the avocado color- which is nice to see compared to many avocado oils, which are a more refined oil pressing, and often not very green like this. This is easy to cook with, both to just coat a pan or to incorporate as a flavor in itself, and it's smoother and more liquid than the straight coconut oil I use at my avg. home temp (high 60s), making it much simpler to scoop- just dipping in a spoon vs. scraping out. If you want to do your body some good and use healthful fats in your diet, this is a great way to get two in one, in a very convenient package, and which provides a pleasant taste and sensation. Update: I used this in my Persian "green" rice, which is rice w chicken broth, and equal parts of parsley, cilantro, dill and fenugreek leaves (methi). I normally use just coconut oil in most of my rices anyways, but this was a perfect addition to the green rice flavors.

Smells nauseating
Wow ! The best of both world’s, right. Coconut oil , avacado oil. However the smell was sooooooo nauseating that we had to stop cooking and throw it out. Won’t ever use this again , no combo for me.

I really wanted to like this more than I truly did
I really wanted to like this more than I truly did. I like cooking with coconut oil, and I like cooking with avocado oil even more because I can go really high heat with it. I've never noticed either oil imparting any taste to the food cooked either. A mix of the two, with turmeric and lemon flavor, sounded like it could be interesting. I've cooked with it twice now and I have a couple observations. This may seem petty, but at room temperature this stuff moves like ketchup. It looks thick, but it will flow on you and can surprise you. In other words I had some messes I didn't expect. Also something about the texture, visually, bothered me. That's not a fair point to judge this product on, but still, I just didn't like the consistency of the product, or how it looked and moved...neither oil nor solid, somewhere in between. When cooking with it, I still did not get any notes of coconut or avocado, which is not surprising. I did expect a turmeric lemon flavor, but most of that flavor seem disappear in the cooking process. There was something there, but it hard to distinguish after the high heat cooking, and I definitely did not get a note of lemon. What did confuse me is that there was a decided note of "soap" taste to the food. And, no, I did not leave soap reside in my pan. I did a second experiment a few nights later and confirmed a background note of soap. Not enough to dump the food in the trash but just enough to be disconcerting. At least for me. So I love the idea of this product, but in real world testing I'm not sold. I think I would be better off cooking in straight avocado oil, then seasoning with turmeric and lemon after cooking. Or even going with turmeric spice and avocado oil while cooking and then seasoning with lemon afterwards.

Outstanding quality and flavor!
Avacado and coconut oils are excellent for cooking, but often expensive. Coconut oil sometimes adds a slightly sweet flavor to cooking also. That can be a plus if you plan for it, but often is an unwanted side effect. The Cocavo with Chili and Lime changes that up and gives you a very high quality oil, that is far better for you than most oils, and has a high smoking point and best of all - tastes great. I wasn't sure what to expect with the Chili and Lime flavor added. First off, the avacado gives the "oil" (more of a grainy 'crisco-like' texture) a green color. The lime flavor is not overpowering, but includes a light lime-scent as well. There is no hint of coconut or avacado flavor. When it comes to the chili flavor, I do not have much tolerance for spicy foods. I can eat them, but I don't enjoy them. To me, hot spicy foods just overpower all the other flavors and make the food taste hot, with no other nuance. This cooking oil does NOT overpower you with hot, spicy flavor. It is more of a smoky chili flavor and not so much a hot, spicy flavor. This makes it very easy to add a very authentic Mexican flavor to any dish you are making that has pan fried ingredients. Much more subtle than a powder or other added flavor, not overpowering and very good. I am a big fan. The only real down side I can see is that you are limited to using this on recipes that you want to have a "Mexican flavor." Obviously. Otherwise, it is pretty outstanding.
