Above & Beyond
I am not a person to type long reviews. So here is a short but very accurate review.I am impressed. They out performed my expectations. Our Setup:Connect 2 Buildings .5 miles apart.I had to turn the power of both NanoBridge all the way down from 23 dBm to 4 dBm as it was too "hot".With both dishes turned all the way down. I still had a signal strength of -58dbm. (Almost ideal)My CCQ was 99.1%.I am getting 270mbs tx/rx rate.Easy to align. (Although my line of sight was good)If/when I need to buy a wireless bridge again. It will be Ubiquiti. One last note: The community/resources available are top notch. Their Wiki is informative. You shouldn't have many issues a few well thought out searches won't fix.Update: (3/17/2014)Seeing as this ended up the most favorable review (Thank you all), I wanted to provide an update. For the record I still love these units. I have bought quite a few more sets (no bad ones so far). So the comment about 10% bad from my perspective seems off, but that is just based on my experience.Product Stability: (Set it and forget it)I have a watchdog timer set to reboot if there is an issue and when I looked it has been over 400 days since last reboot. (They are plugged into UPS). I would give that 5 of 5 stars. One side note: I am in Iowa, and we had a ridiculously cold winter, -20 was not uncommon. They performed flawlessly, which brings me to an important note.Upgrades: I use the Radome Cover on all the units I buy in order to protect the unit from birds nests/ice. Radome Cover For Ubiquiti NanoBridge NB-5G22 (no longer available from Amazon)Additional Note: These are not like you typical home networking equipment you buy at "insert retailer here". As I said earlier in my review the wiki is informative, the community forums are good as well. If you have very little computer networking knowledge, and are not interested in learning, these might not be the right units for you.Difficulty Rating(IMO): 2 of 5Hope this additional information helps someone!Update 4/21/2018: Just a quick update, these are still installed and running strong. Since I put these in back in 2012. I have installed many more sets of these since then and since my last update, and all are running strong. I thought I had a bad one, only to find out it was the cat 5e cable going to it. One thing to note, there are newer models of these available.

NB-5G22 shock & Awe !!
The shock and awe, because seeing these units in a test run, the other engineers hearing the price & capabilities literally said " Why didn't we use these for the painful wired project" they had just completed !!.To be fair, we have yet to try these out in 'our' actual usage situation. but reflectors off, laying in the shop at all odd angles and polarizations was good. Ours is not a typical point to point layout and forget it scenario. We will use these as a range extender with our Vsat fly away satellite system. I am the engineer of a radio station, we occasionally find ourselves at times going where the ONLY link is via satellite. On those adventures the NB-5 will be used between the Vsat location, shooting to our actual broadcast site using AOIP. Additionally, we may not need the full power capabilities (with dish etc.) so another test to be done tomorrow, is the intermediate power test. This test, not using the dishes at all, pointing the cat 5 ends of the 'feed horn' at each other at various power levels & distances from the back of my pickup. Another scenario, an NB5 likely on a broom stick, attached to the Vsat chassis oriented opposite the Vsat reflector for example. We could have used lower power cousin units, but want to be prepared for potential long range situations. As to setup, reading other users comments helped speed our setup. The first time around, when you've never done it before is a bit tricky. By the time you’ve finished however, it makes sense and you wonder why it was thought 'tricky” in the beginning..These are a great product, I am certain you will find they will handle your link challenges.

Just what the doctor ordered!
I have a wireless bridge set up between my house and my in-law's house. It's only about 600 feet, but about 2/3 of the distance is heavily wooded. I had another product made by another company that worked well enough, but I had trouble with them when the trees leafed out and when it was very cold. One of these other units died in a lightning storm recently and the original product is now discontinued. I decided to order two of these to replace the old units. I actually paid less for these than I did for the other units three years ago.How do they work? Extremely well. I was extremely impressed with the quality of construction. After I figured out how to best set up a bridge with these in my setup (one set up as an access point, one as a station, with WPA2 encyrption) I am getting a 180 Mbps connection each way with a 20 db SNR. I lowered the transmit power to 100 mW (20 dbm) on each side to go a little easier on the radios. The old units had 600 mW radios and had maybe a 10 db SNR with a slower connection. These were extremely easy to line up, with the signal lights on the horn and the real-time signal strength web page running on the unit that I could access with my smartphone. I would definitely recommend these to other people in a similar situation.

Works great!
I bought a pair of these and assembly was a snap. Be aware that shielded cat 6 rated for direct burial will not fit the strain relief, I had to file it out bigger. Then the cable connectors wouldn't click in the socket. Had to just run a little extra cable into the dish to keep pressure on the connector. As a non-geek, non-network savvy user, I had some challenges getting it to talk to my old XP laptop but lots of Google searching paid off and I was successful. The docs that came with it were less than sparse, you will need to download info if you are like me. The software is outstanding, I was really impressed. There are more than enough parameters to play with if you know what you are doing.... I'm clueless what most of that stuff does. The mounting hardware was the standard U-bolt for azimuth but altitude was a flimsy affair, tightening the nut causes the dish to rotate and it was a bitch to try and keep the dish level while doing it.For performance, I would have to give it 5 stars, my link works great and the price was very reasonable.
