Blackout Roller Shades

I bought this as solution to my apartment's window AC unit not allowing me full use of my blackout curtain and it's the perfect solution. It's easy to use and very renter friendly with quick install and good stability. I've had it up for over a month and the adhesive has held even in the high summer temperature. The shade is full blackout as well. Great value!

This is an inexpensive, easy option to darken and cool a room. The quality is in line with the inexpensive price, but that was okay for my needs. I did not trim the roll up curtain, but it seems like you could do that with household scissors. The Velcro seems strong (be sure to position it correctly the first time), and installation was easy. The fabric side looks nice, and that is the part that faces the room. I found it easier to roll up with shiny side out. It definitely darkens the room a lot! I got this for a south facing window that gets a lot of sun, so I think this will help keep this room cooler in the summer and save on energy costs. This is not a fancy product, but I am happy with it.

I installed this product in a window. This product comes folded and requires a very low heat iron to help remove the creases because of the "plastic" backing. It is very thin, like a thin piece of fabric fused onto a disposable tablecloth. It does however, black out the light. Installation was easy, but putting the loop tape onto the backing is very unforgiving. Wherever you stick it, it will not come off without damaging the product. I would imagine on a french door, the shade will flap when the door is open and closed. It did work for my purpose in a window in a spare bedroom that is hardly used. Probably a good buy at this price!

------ why i was looking for this product----- I live on campus in an apartment right by some frat and sorority houses. I underestimated how loud they would get on the weekends and even the middle of the week. I thought I'd get a head start before they all come back from winter break to make some changes to avoid some of their nuisances; one of these being the lights. The street lights are on anyway, but when they party the lights from their buildings and leds shine into my window. I live in the basement part of my complex so my window is high up and there's really no way to completey block the light. The cops also come very often because of underage drinking, noise, or just general problems that go on during their parties. So I also have to deal with the bright cop lights . ---- why this?----- I saw this product during my search for a curtain. Im not allowed to drill holes or even use adhesive or tape here, but we use command strips anyway. I was going to get adhesive curtain rod holders, a curtain, and a rod, but there's not much space or flat area to place it on my windows. It's also above my bed and I didn't want to get wacked in the head if it happened to fall. This product looked easy to place, was affordable, and looked like an actual black out curtain. ---- application---- It was super easy to install. I didn't have fabric scissors but my regular cheap scissors worked fine to cut this. My scissors glided smoothly during the cuts. I will note that I didn't notice one of the rods was bigger than the others, so I taped two together. I was about to tape the 3rd when i realized it just slides in. So i took the tape off and just slid the two smaller ones into the bigger one. The velcro was very easy to install and sticks great! I was worried it wouldnt stick well on my window because 1) the wall is cold from the snow, and 2) there's no flat space. It wasn't a problem and the curtain adhered just fine. ----- use ----- The clips work perfectly for holding the curtain when you roll it up. The light is completely blacked out. I included a video to compare my two windows. I only bought 1 to test it but now that I know what a great product it is, I'll be ordering a 2nd one for my other window. I got this one on sale for $13 but it was originally $19. Either way, the value matches the price, and its a great solution for anyone looking for a cheap but quality fix to light blockage.

I gave it three cuz the first time we ordered this shade it came with all the little fixings it was suppose to like the rod n the panel stickers. And notvto mention it also didcthe job wexwanted it to by making the room dark we have it in so we thought we irder another one. N all that was in the package was the shade itself nothing else. (Missing the panel stickers n the pladtic rod)

I purchased these for our cottage on the upper east coast of Maine where it starts getting light out very early in the morning. I only had shades that diffused the light so I was waking up way too early. I wanted something that required no tools to install, that I could do myself. This item fit the bill. I have 9 windows and installed them on all of them. No light gets in! I am so pleased. It take s a few minutes for me to roll them all back up in the morning but so worth it.

Super affordable way to do blackout blinds! Obviously if you're wanting to raise and lower them all the time it would get annoying with these, but I plan to just have them in the window at all times to block out heat and light from specific windows. For the price and the quality of the fabric, these were a perfect find!

They are really sturdy but the wore off in 2 days even though we cleaned the surface that it was sticking to. They do block out the sun very well keeps our house nice and cool. We did staple that one of the velcro strips to our wall also measure your windows before buying.
