Exactly what it says it is, and well done with no fans or dooo-dads
If you're looking for a simple, no frills; but not el-cheapo laptop desk... this is it. Everything I've bought from Logitech in the last twenty-odd years has been well designed, well made and problem free, so this was a no-brainer for me at 12+ bucks shipped.I paid under $10 for this 'lap-desk' (it is NOT a cooling pad - there are no fans), and I could hardly be happier with it.The top surface is grippy so the laptop doesn't slip or slide at all; and the bottom has rubber feet or pads that do the same if it is on a work table or desk and not in your lap.On your lap it cuts down significantly on heat transfer, but doesn't eliminate it. If that's the main feature you're looking for as an intensive user, gamer, etc. I suggest you look for something with USB powered cooling. The side slide out mouse pad is just about the right size - not so large that it is awkward and in the way, and generally not too small, and works perfectly with a wireless mini-mouse, which is what I prefer with a laptop (I HATE touch-pads).It's just what I was looking for, but may not be for everybody.

Well made and thought out
I was a bit skeptical at first and the price varied quite a bit. I got these as refurbs thinking that any defect couldn't be too severe. When I received then, my first impressions were the weight. They are pretty solid covered with high density rubber foam. It very grippy - great for keeping your stuff securely on top, but keeping dust and lint off it can trigger OCD tendencies. The slide out mouse tray appeared to me as a gimmik. But it is functional and much stiffer than I had expected. It's portable and I'm sure people will find all kinds of uses that will suit their needs perfectly.Another benefit of the grippy rubber case, is the option to place a small secondary cooler on top.I haven't tried it, but I have placed a riser on it and it felt securely in place. I give it high marks for the mix of solid/quality materials and simplicity. The mouse pad area, however, could use some tweaking. The rubber edge could be trimmed and the surface could be a bit bigger. Otherwise, a great product - especially if you can get a good price. Again, this could make a good gift for someone who uses their notebook on the couch/bed or anywhere there's no desk available.

Rubber strip on bottom peeled off
I would give this 4 or maybe even 5 stars if the bottom rubber strip didn't fall off. Now when I sent it on my glass coffee table it slides and scratches the table. This is not a BIG problem because this is meant for your lap anyway. But it's a bit of an inconvenience to have to put the laptop down and put the lapdesk face down so that it's not scratching the table. Then when you're ready for it again you have to pick the lapdesk back up and put it on your laptop and place the laptop on the lapdesk again. It would be easier if I could just sit the laptop back down on the table while it's still on the lapdesk. Can't do this anymore due to missing strip that scratches my table. The slide out mouse holder works nicely. I can't use my laptop without a mouse so this is a necessity for me. The color is nice and it is sturdy. I have a 15inch HP Touchsmart and this fits on it just right.

Just perfect for a 15.6 inch notebook and perfect timing!
This is actually my replacement for one that I originally bought at radio shack, but they apparently stopped selling them so thank you for having them available online! I love having the pullout mouse tray because I always use a mouse don't like using the little pad especially when it comes to games. What originally drew me to the Logitech lapdesk is the fact that it kept my old computer cooler (gateway vista operating system) and oh man did that thing overheat! When I got this it solved that problem besides the fact that the fan still got hot and sometime so bad that the upper part near the keyboard even got really hot.... but it wouldn't shut down on me anymore without warning. I was able to be on all day with no weird and annoying shut downs except for maybe a couple occasions but that may have been just the block that was on the power cord. Another thing the main silicone like material is really helpful when changing positions trying to get comfy because it doesn't slip and fall! Thank you soooo much!!!! One last thing is the fact that its slim for easy storage, the weight, and how long it will last as long as you don't force it in your bag and end up bending the corners on accident (oopsies! My reason for getting a replacement and it was trying to fall apart because of that).
