Happy Sales HSBH85/N, 10-Piece Dinnerware Set Blue Dragonfly

I got this set for Christmas and it is gorgeous in person. It holds up well in the dishwasher and is extremely sturdy! Like really really sturdy. I have let my 4 year old and my neighbors 12 year old and my clutzy husband use this because of how sturdy it is. I can plunk it in the sink and it has held up perfect. We love using it for sushi, romantic meals with hubby or just making a normal dinner a big deal. It can hold a fair bit of food. The plates hold about 1.5--2 cups of food depending on what it is and about 8--10 sushi pieces depending on the size. The sauce containers are a bit large holding about 1.5--2 oz again depending on the type of sauce. And the bowls comfortably hold 6-8 oz. The chopsticks are beautiful and easy to hold and wash. And the included spoons are the perfect size. The pattern is beautiful and the dragonfly is definitely not girly at all according to my husband and my son both. ("It's for boys, cause it's a blue dragonfly" says my 4 year old.) A bit expensive, but with all the fun we have with it, totally worth it! I stood on the fence for a while trying to figure out if the price was worth the breakage risk. Or if it was one of those things that would become another one of "mommy's pretties" to be hidden in a cupboard away from clumsy family members. But I wanted it so bad my husband decided to get it for me. And it's held up to both of them! I honestly can't say enough good things about this set.Update: Had this set for quite a while now and am still absolutely in love with it! NO chips, breaks or discoloration and we have run them through the mill. We use these so much the have a permanent place in our cupboard along with our "regular" dishes. The bowls are microwaveable and dishwasher safe and after a bit of soaking even the most stubborn foods wipe off. Clumsy husband and rowdy son are still as clumsy and rowdy as ever and still no breakage. I get tons of compliments when I break these out for special meals. I'm planning on getting more because they are always being washed. My husband works swing shift and I frequently use this to prepare a small meal when he gets home. Makes him feel extra special without me putting in much extra effort at 11pm.

I was looking for porcelain soup bowls to cook miso soup in, with matching porcelain spoons - because miso soup is just not the same without these, and this dish set was perfect.The shipment came as estimated (August 2), all the way from San Francisco, CA. I was worried that the package would get mishandled along the way (as some of my shipments did), but the vendor was very careful in packing it with caution written on the box to warn the courier to be careful (and the courier heeded it). I was expecting it to look like it just got pulled out from a dusty crate in a warehouse (dust included - I am very skeptical). The product came with an expertly packed box, tightly stuffed with newspapers to prevent being knocked around, and I was also surprised at how nice the actual box of the product was (see customer image). It's very presentable, so you can just wrap the box with a bow and it's the perfect gift!The dish set is just good for 2 people, with 2 soup/rice bowls, 2 pairs of chopsticks, 2 sauce dishes and 2 dinner dishes (for your potstickers, sushi, or other stuff). The dishes look pretty durable, unlike delicate china, but I don't think they're dishwasher safe.Although initially I was just looking for soup bowls, this was a good deal - now I can enjoy eating Asian dinners with these!

We bought this Japanese dinnerware set as a gift for son who is a big Japanese food fan. We based our decision based on favorable ratings on Amazon. Our son really likes the set - so our reliance on the recommendations were warranted. Pros: Well made porcelain plates, bowls and spoons that are sturdy and were well packed for shipping. Dishwasher safe - under 30's only wash dishes in a dishwasher! Nice color. Nice storage box. Cons: None reported by our son. Overall: A great set for a good price. Our son was very pleased with the gift. We are very happy that the set met his approval.

The set I received is absolutely gorgeous! It doesn't match the picture, but I was aware of that possibility from reading previous reviews. But even though it doesn't look like it, it is absolutely beautiful. Greatly exceeded my expectations! Even the chopsticks were nicer than I expected. There is an unglazed part on the bottom of the spoons, but that doesn't really bother me at all. The dragonflies in the picture almost look like gold stamped images to me? However the box i received had a set with solid silver dragonflies that are shiny and sparkly! The box it comes in is pretty too! It's just cardboard, but it's nice. Everything was snugly packed and nothing was broken. Looking forward to using these to celebrate Japanese new year with my Japanese husband. :) He absolutely loved them. I took some photos with my hand so you can get an idea of how big the pieces are.

This is a beautiful set. It came exactly as it is shown, and the dinnerware seems to be made very well. The designs look flawless, and the color is very rich. The set came very well packaged, which was good, because I was worried about the handling.We haven't used the chopsticks yet, but we have used these plates about three times a week since Christmas! By way of gift giving, these go great with sushi mats. They make a fun date night, with a great atmosphere.

Looks really pretty, bought another one. Not sure about durability, will see, but it did survive wash in a dishwasher. On the back of the spoons there is a spot where there is no glazing, but it looks like it it made that way and not a defect, so that's fine. Although, I do wish it would be a little cheaper but have nothing to compare it to.

This is a really great set! I was disappointed, however, to discover that it is not as deep blue as it looks in one of the photos. The bowls are definitely deep blue, but the rest is more of a faded/greyish blue. Despite this, I am still very satisfied with the quality. Handle with care!

This is such a beautiful set and beautifully packaged. Bit pricey but made a beautiful gift.
