Helly Hansen vs Gill vs FitsT4
This is a review of partial finger sailing gloves comparing:Helly HansenvsFitsT4 SportsvsGill DeckhandMy hands have a 9” circumference at the knuckles. All gloves sizes were chosen per the company's size chart for a 9" hand. Gill and Helly Hansen were Large. FitsT4 were Extra Large.Helly Hansen: Good construction. I liked the full wrap of reinforcement on the fingers. These gloves had the snuggest fit of the group, especially through the palm and fingers (just a smidge tighter than the Gill but definitely tighter than the FitsT4). The thumb fit however is quite loose.FitsT4: largest of the three pairs. Not bad gloves. Lighter build than the other pairs. Would be good for somebody that needs them occasionally or for light use. Comfortable. The gloves had the shortest fingers of the group. The description of the FitsT4 says they are 3/4 gloves – I would consider them more “half-finger” gloves. One of the things that I did not like about the FitsT4, is that the palm reinforcement did not cover the area between the thumb and fore finger. This is an area that definitely gets wear from control lines.Gill: Nice construction and comfortable. I felt these gloves were a little roomier than the Helly Hansen gloves. They also had the longest fingers of the group. A feature that these gloves had (that the others didn’t) was pull loops on the middle and ring finger. Sometimes wet sailing gloves can be a challenge to get off – these pull loops are a great aid to removing them at the end of the day. Conclusion: I would rate both the Gill and the Helly-Hansen 5-stars. They both have quality construction and materials and are well designed.I would give the FitsT4 a 4-star rating because they are built lighter and don’t have full reinforcement between the thumb and forefinger. On the other-hand (no pun intended), they’re decent gloves and are less expensive than the Gill and Helly Hansen gloves. If you only need sailing gloves from time-to-time, they would be a great option.I decided to keep the Gill gloves and return the Helly-Hansen and FitsT4 because of better fit for my hands and the pull loops on the fingers, but I would be happy with any of these gloves.

Good quality, very tight, not warm, not waterproof
I disagree with some of the comments - I was immediately impressed with the quality of these gloves for the price. I've sailed with them 4 times as of this writing, in very harsh, cold and wet conditions in the Pacific Northwest. I purchased 'large' but these were super tight fitting - much more like a medium- and difficult for me to take off - but not uncomfortable. I suppose for the job I expected them to do, being tight was right. 2 of the sails were on a larger sailboat with very large sails, and between the manual pulling and working a winch, the gloves did the job. I would say, they were soaking wet all day, so that wasn't super great and I found I had to keep my hands in my pockets when not working a sail due to fingertips being exposed (did I say very cold, very wet sailing?). Overall for the price, this is a great glove.

Great Sailing Gloves
Amazing sailing gloves and excellent for experienced or new sailors. Fit nice, but run slightly small for sizing to my view

Size runs small.
Men’s XL is an extremely tight fight and I usually wear a large. Just got them and have not sailed with them yet so can not at this timeSpeak to the quality or durability.

Fits well
Fits as promised. Looks professional and very comfortable, as all of their products are. Construction all looks solid, and I expect it to be very durable. We'll see! (I'll follow up if I notice any shortcomings)

There IS an importance difference between sailing gloves and biking gloves!
Let me start by saying I like a good deal and try to be an “out of the box thinker”. I already own a pair of biking gloves and thought I could make them pull double duty as sailing gloves too. Well, don’t make the same mistake I did! You see, there is a key distinction between the gloves for these two different activities. It has been said, “size matters” and in this case specifically, I am referring to length. The length of the leather protecting each finger is what keeps the lines from tearing into the flesh of delicate fingers (mine). After my failed experiment, using biking gloves, I ordered this pair of sailing gloves. I believe I received them the next day and three days later they were stylishly protecting my fingers fromlines as we sailed. I purchased a small, which is my normal size of clothing, and they fit snugly, but with enough room to comfortably move my hands. Excellent purchase! Bonus, they look great too!

Perfect fit on a nimble breathable glove
The media could not be loaded. Bought these for sailing adventures. Wanted a glove that would protect me from rope burns but still allow me to easily work the ropes. I also wanted a lightweight and breathable fabric. All of these needs didn’t leave me with a lot of options, especially as a woman with slender fingers and wrists.I went by Helly Hansens glove measurements on their website and the fit is perfect. The gloves meet all of my requirements. I can’t wait to put them to use this coming weekend!
